Transcendental Etudes (6) after Paganini, S 140: no 3 "La Campanella"
Li Yundi

It's a piano piece, can't possibly display the score here. Anyway Li Yundi is a pianist from China, who won a major major competition when he was 18. Youngest player and first asian to won that competition. i forgot how i got to know about him, must be through television... So was quite impressed by this cheena guy cos he has no tinge of cheena-ness in him...haha... Few months back he came to Singapore to perform a recital. By the time i knew about it, the cheap tickets were sold out, only left $68 and over above tickets. And he only had one performance. And somemore nobody will be willing to watch with me anyway, so i gave it a miss which i regretted until now...hai~ Basically once you hear Li Yundi play, you think that people like Maksim is crap. Haha... Mixing techno with classical piano is just so wrong... Pure piano pieces are the best. So i introduce this by far is my favourite piece. La Campanella.

Happy birthday mummy!
Haven't you people realise there are alot of people having birthdays in September? i count up to at least 5 people i noe... My brother offered an explanation for such a phenomenon : people have nothing to do during December.

Anyway, that's not the main point. The main point is, the Japanese restaurant that we went today is fabulous... absolutely heavenly. It's called Sento, at East Coast Parkway, beside the Singapore Tennis Centre. It's a japanese restaurant that serves food that can found in "normal" japanese restaurants and "special" japanese restaurants. Ok, i think people are scratching their heads liao, anyway it's good lar. And there's lots of people, maybe becos it was a Sunday... hmm... but oh, if u see Japanese patronising a japanese restaurant, you can roughly tell the restaurant is got standard one. Never see Sakae Sushi got Japanese eating right? Hehe... So we ordered this omelette (which so far only 2 jap restaurants got sell), yummy. Then goyza, agedashi tofu, assorted sushi, and hotpot. The hotpot is muack. The soup is...ooh...sweet... i want to go there eat again... i realise i have this fetish for eating recently. Depends on the food also lar, haha.

Of cos, i can't be just eating only, my eyes will be roving around... spotting for any target to admire basically. Haha... In Singapore, besides Orchard Road, the probability of finding someone good looking is almost zero. Ok, maybe not that serious. So, today i was basically in luck. See, our table was near the entrance and so i can clearly see people coming in and out. Then this guy in black caught my eye. Ok, it was his badly dyed hair that caught my eye. What was his hair? Close to yellow...abit rusty looking yet look abit blonde, aiyah bad colour lar. His hair was long, typical Japanese style. So i was curious what he might look like. And ooh... he looked like those main lead from the manga. Very typical jap style again. But he's not jap. But he's my type. Haha... for fantasizing that is. i thought he was leaving liao cos he was at the cashier. Then he came back to collect food, cos he ordered takeaway. Then he went out again. Then he came back again and i was discussing with my brother about him. Then opposite us got this couple waiting for a seat and the "jap" guy was standing near our table (which is near the kitchen) for his other food, with his back facing me. My brother noticed the girl opposite was sort of bio-ing him too but she was more discrete cos her boyfriend was beside her reading manga. Haha... Not like me, obviously staring at him, and realising he has long nails!! Argh... Can someone tell me why some guys like to have long nails? It's totally unacceptable if a guy has nails longer than mine.

Why do my entries seem shallower recently huh? Keep talking about guys...haha. But boh bian lar, it's a single girl's dairy.

i can't wait
While i was studying for MA test just now, my brother came into my room and said he need two minutes of my time but sweared it will be worth it. So i went to his room, he told me to sit down and watched the screen... i warned him it better not be some stupid creepy stuff... Then the words in green "This is only a preview..." came out and i knew it's the Matrix Revolutions teaser. Ok, i know everyone by now should have seen the previous 1 minute preview but what i watched was a 2 minute one and i sweared it blew the mind off me. Otherwise i would not blog about it immediately... Can sense Matrix Revolutions is going to be loads better than Reloaded. Was so overwhelmed by the teaser that i nearly want to cry. No kidding. Already damn touched by how Neo is going to save Zion. Watch out for this date people, 05.11 (Damn, will be having the darned exams.)

No fate with good stuff
Today is the first of my five midterm tests that i have for this semester. Anyway main point is not about the test, zero importance. What is interesting is that as i settled down in the LT, my friend beside me asked whether i know who Stephen is. i said "yah, the one from Bizad?". She replied "no, the one from VJ, he's sitting behind." i suddenly stunned and turned around to look, took me a while to find him and let's just say i was not mentally prepared to see him like that. Don't get my meaning wrong, in case some of you all are his fans...Haha...Not say he ugly, but he got a new look. Hair length that of jie lun's, hair colour similiar to that of zai~ ? Maybe a lighter shade. Then...look abit thinner now... Just not used to it lar. It can't be helped that i have lived with his previous image for 3 years (since sec 4). Anyway my friend was practically gushing over him, saying that nobody in Bizad got his standard. Now where does AC stands then? Haha... Which reminds me, Hinhin, shouldn't have moved out of KR hall, Stephen's staying there leh... i realise i'm disgressing from the topic. Ok, what i mean is that Stephen got the same tutorial time slot as me, but because there are 3 classes, suay suay i'm not in the same one as him. Although my class also got 1 cutie, but Stephen will be a better choice. So there, good things never happen to me...sigh.

Books
i want all these.

J.D. Sallinger - [The Catcher In The Rye]
Eric Schlosser - [Fast Food Nation : The Dark Side Of The All-American Meal]
Jon Krakauer - [Under The Banner Of Heaven : A Story Of Violent Faith]
David Beckham - [My Side]

i need either MPH or TIMES or Kinokuniya or Borders to have a storewide 20% off their books right now. But i would prefer if someone gives me the David Beckham book as a gift. It's too freaking expensive. Haha... Actually, people who gives good books (provided they have not been read before) as birthday gifts or whatever, are people with depth. i got a book from a primary school friend last time for my birthday and it was a really good book. And she is studying law now, that explains it huh. So maybe i should start giving books as gifts. Think they prove to be more useful, just that it's sad that people do not have time to read anymore...

How did i fall in love with you
Backstreet Boys

Remember when we never needed each other
The best of friends like sister and brother
We understood we never be alone

Those days are gone now i want you so much
The night is long and i need your touch
Don't know what to say
Never meant to feel this way
Don't wanna be alone tonight

What can i do to make it right
Falling so hard so fast this time
What did i say what did you do (Everything's changed we never knew)
How did i fall in love with you

i hear your voice and i start to tremble
Brings back the child that i resemble
i cannot pretend
That we can still be friends
Don't wanna be alone tonight

i wanna say this right
It has to be tonight
Just need you to know

i don't wanna live this life
i don't wanna say goodbye
With you i wanna spend the rest of my life

This is the english version of SHE's latest song 远方. Just want to let you all compare. Personally, i prefer Backstreet Boys' version more cos SHE's high pitch voice abit spoil the song...Haha...But it's strange how it sounds more like a Chinese song than an English one...i wonder if i had listened to Backstreet Boys' one first, will i still think that way.

Hope i did not get the numbers wrong. Anyway was quite disappointed with the movie. Not because i was not watching with someone "special", it's because the film failed to stir my feelings. It's like i walked out of the cinema without any feelings about the movie, like there's nothing to talk about. And somehow, Takeshi lost his shine in there, did not go gaga over him like how i did in . Edmund Chen stole the show i must say, quite a good performance. Maybe the movie was not sad enough, not like . Or maybe i expected too much, like what my friend said.

Talking to a friend about the Student Exchange Programme (SEP). Did not really thought about going next semester cos always had this idea must complete my 14 foundation modules, out of which i would have done 12 by next semester. Then people tell me there is a leeway if you completed most of them. That makes me tempted to go for the SEP. But finding company is one difficult matter. And it's worse if one gets in and the other doesn't. Then i thought of my driving test next year. Or should i wait until second half of 2004. Sama... cos the same problems will exist. Why am i thinking so much when i haven't even asked my parents about it. Hmm... Argh i hate decisions.

Plop!
That's the sound of the tennis ball when people serve. Anyway, yesterday i tried my hand at tennis for an hour with Renyu (a project group mate) and it was terrible... Kept missing balls, picking balls and using my wrist to move the racket when it should be the arms... It's amazing how your right hand turned numb at the end of the session... Numb until cannot write that kind leh... And amazing how much one can perspire even when we did not play much but went around picking balls... Haha... Plus the fact that it was quite cloudy yesterday. Some of you must be wondering why i suddenly will go and play tennis especially when i hate sports without water... Cos since my friend was kind enough to suggest playing and bring the rackets and i have not tried my hand at tennis before plus the fact that we paid 12 bucks for sports fee per semester, decided to try for once. Lesson learnt : tennis is darn difficult. i shall not try it again. Think my friend will vomit blood if he continues to watch me play with such idiotness... Haha...

Update
More updates about my day... Anyway, i finally remembered what i wanted to write this afternoon. i was learning driving yesterday then my instructor asked whether i'm still keeping in touch with ZW (his previous student, my JC classmate). Then i say not very much. Then he say at least got talk on the phone lar. Then i say no lar, if see him on the internet then maybe chat abit lor. At this point of time, my instructor gave this 'hmm' look and say, "talk on the internet? How?" i replied "ICQ lor." He became more amused and started asking what is ICQ. Then i had to explain to him the whole thing while i was driving...gosh... It's very stressful to keep your eyes on the road and talking to someone else at the same time... So i was relating this whole thing to my brother in my dad's car today then he say, "i bet dad doesn't know also." So i asked my dad, and he gave some funny answer and so i decided to forgive my instructor. Haha...

Moving on... Oh yes, my Swatch Skin is spoilt. Damn it. Last week i changed to a new battery, then it stopped moving after an hour. Today the guy at the watch shop told me the bad news. Argh... Can't find that watch anywhere else cos it's the first Swatch Skin they produced. Sniff.

Today alot of things happen man... i went to the optics to get my stock of contact lenses. Then i was served by this guy, quite young, couldn't really guess his age. He told me mine need to be ordered, so he asked if i wanted a free pair first. i said i do not need them. Then he suddenly gave me this free gift from Acuvue, a bag, and say, "give you this first" i didn't really want the bag but i can't be bothered to tell him i don't want. Then he say next Thursday can come down and collect. So my dad paid a deposit. Then suddenly, he hand the invoice to me and asked me to write down my handphone number so that he can call me when my contacts are ready. He even pointed out where i should write. i was like 'huh' and 'duh' and refused, saying no need and wrote down my house number instead. When we got out of the shop, my dad was telling my mum about how that guy was trying to get my handphone number and my brother notice also that guy's tone was weird when he asked for my number and proud of me for being smart when i wrote my house number... Haha... So it was not only me who thought he tried to pick me up lar... (oops, BHB) Anyway, he can't make it lar. Hello, his thumb nail is like longer than mine... i can't stand guys with long nails. Yucks. And i'm not going to collect the lenses myself. Shall ask daddy to do it.

-nil-
Couldn't really think of a title... Anyway, i'm blogging from school cos i need to wait for my dad to fetch me. Today i forgot to bring my handphone to school...Argh... That's what happens when you rush to sleep by 11pm the night before and wakes up at 7.30am the next morning. You basically get blur. But i'm so glad my friend is taking the same module as me... i mean the chance of finding a person who takes the same module outside of Bizad as you when you thought you're the only one taking alone is quite slim. So thank heavens for MY, haha... Not only did he lent me his handphone, also drove me to Bizad... from Science. Haha... Better than squeezing on the shuttle bus mah.

Forgot what i wanted to blog. Darn, i was still thinking of it yesterday...what is it...Never mind, i have a super bad memory nowadays...

Madness
The last two days have been nothing but madness.

Monday
i was blur throughout the school day cos of waking up early for the 9am class, plus the fact that early in the morning my dad had to tell me the bad news of my beloved Ferrero Rocher lost to Roddick in the US open finals... Then later the 10am lecture i was not really listening cos i was busy bio-ing at SOMEBODY (let's just call him AC) and it can't be helped that he was sitting behind me so quite difficult to bio you know... Haha... Then finance tutorial i forgot to do the last question. Then we had to submit our answers to the tutor, so in the end i copied my friend's answer, hoho... School ended, me and friend were walking out of Bizad when people were walking out from the LT, then i heard my friend say "hi" to someone, but i did not notice cos i was in a blur state. What happened next was most idiotic.
LL : eh, walk with me very good huh.
Me : huh?!
LL : it was him right?
Me : who?
LL : he lar!
Me : got meh? (turn around to find AC) he was wearing light blue leh
LL : yah, light blue...
Me : ah~~ i didn't see him leh!
LL : wah, i purposedly say hi to WY lor... (WY is AC's friend)
Me : ah~~
Night was even worse. i logged online at 10pm after watching replay of Ferrero v. Roddick to settle some presentation stuff for today and assignment. Difficult to describe what happened lar, just that alot people started msging me to help them with something, just when i'm busy. Weekends i boh until cannot boh, you people never msg then monday night suddenly all msg me... Haha... So i must apologize to Char, XB, SF and Trish for kind of ignoring you all... Hehe... Supposed to sleep at 11pm end up sleeping at 12.30am.

Today
After the 9am class (yes, again) at Science faculty, me and LL have to rush to Bizad to prepare for a presentation... No time to eat lunch (we eat lunch at 10am) Finish, rush to buy food before going for lecture. Again, got SOMEBODY to bio... haha... Monday and Tuesday are the only days i get to see him... School end, i walk to take bus home. As i was walking out of the HSS library, i saw a familiar back. It was him! He was going home also, except that he is driving... So i walked a little bit faster to catch up. He was making his way to the carpark liao, i want to see what model of the Merc he's driving, but think he parked quite far and i can't possibly follow him mah... So i slowed down cos the barrier to the carpark was on my right, he sure have to pass through one... i even stopped to pretend to look for my handphone in my bag (actually i wanted to msg LL about it). Then just as i got my handphone, his car whisked past me, i didn't even got to see his face... Hai~ To think i was even wildly imagining that he would stop the car, say "hi" and give me a ride home... Haha... Think too much.

sidenote:
1. recently two friends started their blogs. Wonder if it's influenced by me. Think too much again huh.
2. David Blaine went into a glass box that hangs near River Thames, to be stuck there for 44 days without food. He's crazy i tell you. Dawn, got time go London see leh.

YEA!
Sorry for not blogging as frequently as before... Just do not seem to have the urge to blog every single thing that is happening... But today is different because i just received my results for my final theory test and i passed! Ok, i should passed it long ago on my first try, but some things are hard to say one mah... So tentatively my practical test will be around Chinese New Year that period... Hope it will be my first and last practical test. Bleah. As they say, some things are hard to say one... Keke...

As for what i have been doing, what else can i say, either i'm at home or at school or learning driving or going out with family... Abit more exciting will be the drama series Love Storm that i am currently downloading daily, which stars my beloved Zai~ and next week's opening of the movie Turn Left, Turn Right. Can't wait to be swooned over by Takeshi Kaneshiro again... *flys off to dreamland*

The show is super nice... Will someone buy the VCD as a gift to me? Hehe....and oh, original please.
