Luck is what Coria has at the moment. He's playing to win the fourth round of Roland Garros only to have his opponent retire after the first set. So the match ends after 25 minutes with the poor Nicolas Escude retiring with reason i do not know and a result 6-0. Coria gets plenty of rest again before meeting either Carlos Moya or Tommy Robredo, both which are good players. And with Roger Federer out, it seems that Coria is just inches away from the championship. But one must not speak too early, and i hope Coria will not be complacent.
GSS is really killing me. i can't help but buy and buy. i need a job to relieve the guilt which i might have one soon if everything goes well. Meanwhile, i should just stop reading advertisements.

Once again, Coria breezed through his third round, beating Mario Ancic 6-3 6-1 6-2. Splendid. This will help him conserve his energy for later matches, compared to other players who play 5 sets. One pair even played for 6 hours plus spread over 2 days. Super epic man. Oh there's this cheena woman who looks absolutely korean, who is surprisingly quite strong in this tournment. She passed her third round today, first cheena woman to do that. Seems like the Chinese are trying to excel in every sport possible. i'll be waiting to watch the Chinese play cricket. Haha...

Boo hoo... Defending champion, Ferrero is out after being beaten by Igor Andreev, 4-6 2-6 3-6. Sigh... was already prepared for the loss as i watched the match after American Idol until 1am when the live telecast was stopped. He was so out of form, lacking the drive and confidence. Sad.
A new store opened in town with a brand name whose logo is similar to a sports brand. It sells T-shirts, and a variety of other apparel, but i really love their T-shirts. Bought one today, price is affordable too. i'm so going back to buy another. But i figure everyone will start getting clothes from there and next semester i most probably will see people in school wearing their clothes. i hate that feeling when i see people wearing the same clothes as me. And that is why i refuse to say what shop it is. Muahaha... i'm an evil selfish meanie.

TV is my best friend. Watched Coria's match live today at 5pm cos his was the first match on the schedule. But then dinner was up so have to watch the second half of the match tomorrow on tape. Once again, he did not fail himself and his fans, beating Juan Monaco, his fellow countryman, 7-5 6-1 6-3. Men's singles are getting interesting, with all the big names like Roger Federer, Carlos Moya, blah blah, passing through their rounds, it's going to be tough competition out there. My brother's idol, Henin, didn't have much luck though. Got kicked in the second round today, bet the Williams sisters will be gloating over her failure. Especially Serena (yucks) cos Henin beat her in the finals last year.
LOTR trilogy DVD is out. And it cost a freaking 150 bucks. i so want to lay my hands on that collection... Never mind, leaving that aside, i having something to look forward this weekend. Kinokuniya has published their 20% discount coupons! Woo hoo! i'm going to zoom down to buy those two books or reserve them if they're still out of stock and get more other books. Happy happy happy...

Yipee! Ferrero got through his first round! Don't know if they showed his match on tv cos it was showing serena williams when i went into my room. Hope they showed his match after hers. Won't be appropriate if they don't show the defending champion's matches...hehe. Glad he beat Tommy Hass in 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-2. Was eagerly watching the live score online but then i saw that my download of Untold Scandal has finished... So, hehe... went to watch movie instead lor. Anyway, speaking of Serena Williams, you won't believe what she wore today. Gosh. She dressed like Resse Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. Pink top, pink skirt, pink round big earrings, pink shoes, pink headband... Goodness! i mean even Anna will look bad in a all pink outfit, let alone Serena Williams. Her sister dressed way much better than her. To think both of them went to fashion schools. And the most irritating thing is, she wore this necklace whereby the pendant is a small tennis racket. My idol, Coria, wears a necklace with a similar pendant plus his wedding ring. That woman is a copycat. Hmph. i adore Coria's pendant like mad cos i think it's so cute. To see it around that fat lady's neck just irks me. Argh.
Jx asked whether i was free tomorrow becos he has a pair of tickets for Day After Tomorrow. i so want to catch that movie... but my brother is coming back for dinner from camp and i figure it won't be nice to skip dinner until i told my mum about it and she say it's ok. Ask me to go out more often and stop staying at home and collect mould. Sigh... My movie...

You people are probably going to see such pictures everyday for the next 2 weeks because, the French Open is here! Ok, you don't care, whatever. i just thought i'll blog about the progress of my two beloved idols, Guillermo Coria and Juan Carlos Ferrero. Coria played today, showed his match live but of cos my parents won't watch it with me so i recorded it, planning to watch it tomorrow to find out the results for myself. But then i had to come across this headline when i was seeing the live scores of other matches online. "Coria dismantles Davydenko" And so i got excited and clicked on the link to read the news. Beat him in 3 straight sets (they play the best of 5 sets) with 6-4 6-2 6-0. Good performance but i'll have to watch the tape tomorrow to know better. So there, through the first round, one step closer to the championship. Tomorrow Ferrero will be playing, hope he gets his form back. And if you're wondering what is Coria doing in the picture, he just like to question umpires about call-outs. Like when he thinks the ball is out but it wasn't called out, he'll ask the umpire to come down and check. He does that so frequently that it gets on my nerve and some umpire weeks ago. The umpire told him the final decision lies with him so don't try to influence the umpire. Cool.

One of the more happening days in my holidays so far. Morning and afternoon was still spent slacking. But evening got Liling's birthday party at Chevrons in the Far Far Away (Jurong). Hehe... And i'm so glad for friends like Charlene who happens to live near me, knows how to drive and owns a car. Haha... So we set off around 5 plus and my family went out as well. Then my brother smsed me saying Kino is having this 20% discount, asked me what books i want. So i told him. Meanwhile, me and Charlene are watching the roadsigns very carefully cos we would not want to get lost. Then my brother called and asked where he could find those books so i was telling him and then at the same time instructing Charlene to choose this route which ended up being the wrong one... Luckily we managed to reach Chevrons in the end. The place was quite lovely by any standards. Not bad. And my dear friend booked 2 mini chalets for her 100 guests. The buffet was not bad at all... So far all my friends' parties buffet not bad... Hehe... Then my dad called and told me the books i wanted are sold out. Sigh... i waited so long for the sale and the books are sold out? But i wasn't very upset cos i thought the sale will last for a week or something then i can check out other outlets. But no, it was only for Saturday and Sunday! Argh... i only want to buy books to read... And i can't even get that wish? Sigh. So sorry i digressed. Anyway, Liling was busy flying from place to place like how i was at my party but thrice the speed. Then the cake. Yesh, the yummy chocolate cake which was not very thick. Just right. Except i too, was eyeing the beautiful strawberries on the cake... Sadly, not birthday girl, no strawberries. So there, another friend to join the many of us into adulthood. Time really flies doesn't it?

Deja vu... i looked back to the post of last semester's examination results and realised, hey i'm going to write the same thing again. Damn. As usual, being a wuss like Paris, i did not went to check the results immediately at 7pm but chose to watch telly until American Idol was over and decided to face it. And pissed off i was when the screen appeared.
Business Communication : A-
Japanese 1 : B+
Asia Pacific Business And Society : B
Retail Entrepreneurship : B-
Drugs And Society : Satisfactory
Business Communication : Well, i never expected an A- or anything above a B so quite ok with this result. Not exactly elated either. Bet lots will get A...
Japanese 1 : i had hoped for at least a B so phew there. Maybe that will be a motivation for me to move on to level 2. Maybe not. i want to learn Spanish and NUS do not offer it.
Asia Pacific Business And Society : Ah... i see besides making frequent trips to LV, Mahmood has decided to spend a little bit of his time on passing his students well for his module... After getting C+ for his other module, you can roughly expected that i'm not giving much hope for this module. Afterall, i only expressed my views once (twice?) during class discussions and my project group's presentation was kind of screwed up, plus the fact that i had used almost the same answer for every question in the exam. Dear Mahmood, i sincerely apologise for giving you less than positive feedback. Don't worry, i will not take modules co-ordinated by you anymore.
Retail Entrepreneurship : To think i gave positive feedback for you Dr. Love, and you returned my kindness with a B-. Disappointed i was, for you do not see my effort in the project, in the assignments, in the test.
Drugs And Society : Took S/U option for it so it's either satisfactory or unsatisfactory. And i so regret taking S/U because i was more than 70% confident that i will get at least a B after the mid term test and the exam. Sigh...
So there. Even though i did not get a C, my CAP continued to drop into a bottomless pit with little hope of bouncing back. No honours, maybe i should give up on the idea of double major as well. Realise i can't specialise, my good grades are not in the business modules. They are all over the place. Argh.

One advice for movie goers : don't hold high expectations when walking into the cinema to watch a movie. And i guess that's why i enjoyed Troy so much. Frankly speaking, i don't even know what made me want to watch Troy in the first place anyway. i'm no biggest fan of Brad or Orlando or Eric. And so i was totally unexcited about going to watch it. But by the end of 165 mins, i was in love with the movie. Not for the battle scenes (they're peanuts compared to LOTR), not for the costumes (trust me, the less costumes there are, the better), not for the story (they changed it to very drama mama). Yes, it was for the actors. Not just any actor mind you, but notably Brad Pitt and Eric Bana and i purposely typed the names in that order. Never have i known that Brad can look THAT shuai. He made Achilles so perfect, ok except for his ankle that led to his downfall. But i was crying inside when he told Briseis that it is ok even when he kena 4 arrows and is dying and told her to go... wail... And the moment he came out from the stupid wooden horse he went to look for her... boo hoo... and oh, when he asked Odysseus to keep quiet cos Briseis was still sleeping... all those little actions totally killed me... i love Achilles... Hector is good too. Righteous man. Brave leader. Responsible husband. Why no mention of Paris you wonder. Cos besides the unfair fact that such a wimpy person can deserve such a beautiful woman, Orlando simply cannot act. It's only until the end of the movie when he starts shooting arrows and Legolas comes back to life. Wait, this is not LOTR? See what i mean? Or maybe i just miss his dyed blonde hair. But he has nice chest muscles though. Hmm, all three have nice torsos. Why wasn't i born at that time? When princes do not bald like how Prince Charles of Wales and Prince Albert of Monanco do. i'm digressing. Anyway, if you want to read a little on the story of Troy, i found a pretty good
website.
i want to watch Troy again!

So another week passed by with me still staying at home watching tennis, completing yet another cross stitch and starting on another one, eating and sleeping. Did i missed out anything? i wished i did. Anyway i finally got my sunglasses! So happy about my new buy... It's Levi's in a shade that comes across red and purple? i don't know. Cos Paris Miki had this wonderful sale, so i was happily selecting designs. At first spotted this Gucci one which cost $200 plus. Then this Dior which i absolutely adored... but my mum thinks it's not nice. :( Didn't take a look at the price though. Finally settled for the $132 Levi's which is considered cheaper for a branded stuff. Haha... We're such cheapos... But i can't wear it yet cos it has no degree so i have to wear contacts before i can put it to good use.
My dad recently has been going around 2nd hand car shops to find out what kind of cars are up for sale. i didn't know a 2nd hand Nissan March still can fetch up to 30 thousand. Hmm... Cars are freaking expensive. And somemore my dad say that Nissan March was bought when COE was the lowest. Gawd. Well, i'll leave it to my dad to decide whether i deserve the car cos everytime i drive the family out, not once will i not get a screaming from my dad.
This reminds me that i have been spurgling far too much! That's why i want to get a job to ease my conscience. Sigh... Control...expenses... Great Singapore Sale is coming... Someone save me... i need to strike 4D. So a sidenote, that day was watching 5566's variety show and they had so many cute pets on that show that i'm so tempted to get one of these...

i only know the Chinese name, are they hamsters? But they're like much smaller... So cute...

Life's A Struggle
也渴望 power, paper and respect
That's true
I don't give a fuck about 人家说什么
Life's a struggle
Everyday
It's kinda funny 在人的眼里只有 money
This is the song i was talking about in my previous post. If you find the song very raw in terms of recording, that's becos it's a demo and he recorded it only using a tape recorder. Which further implies that he sang this 6min song in 1 shot. The lyrics speak of his life and he died of bone cancer at 23. Pity. For his full life story, click

And... Ye Hui Mei won the Best Album of the Year at the 15th Golden Melody Awards today. Congrats to Jielun!! His only award of the night and he had to wait so long becos that was the last award to be given out. He had 5 direct nominations namely, Best Lyricist, Best Composer, Best Producer, Best Male Singer and Best Album. Lost out to someone called Shawn Song for the Best Lyricist award, Jiaxin that day sent me this flash of this song written by him and i can understand why he won. It's a rap actually but the lyrics are good. Best Composer lost to Chen Xiao Juan who wrote the song Ye Zhi. It's a simple song like Yu Jian and you will not get sick of it listening to it over and over again. But so, Jielun can compose more quirky tunes. Best Producer... lost to Lee Hom. Hmph. As for Best Male Singer, i knew he wouldn't get it anyway so i was just praying that let anyone take it but Lee Hom. Haha... i'm mean. In the end really let Sky Wu took it...muahaha... Hope he won't lose heart after only winning 1 award cos people out there will still be listening to his music. And i will be eagerly waiting for his album release due October... Jielun ???? !!
What's with the moustache? goatee? beard? Shave Jielun!

i have fallen back into my usual routine of doing cross stitch, watching telly, surfing the Internet, eating and blah blah for this holidays. Sigh... pathetic. There's nothing to blog. Except that last weekend was spent driving my dad's car to places like Hougang, Suntec. Think my driving has somewhat deterred my dad from getting a car for me... Hmm... Never mind, i shall drive carefully to prove my worth. The Benz is simply too big to park. And yes, my mum has decided one should never lie to her kids and decided to get me sunscreen. i saw this pretty Gucci sunscreen which my family thinks it looks good on me. But it costs a freaking $238. Argh... i'm such a whiner. i need a job.
