So i was happily watching my tv upstairs as usual when around 10.05pm, my telly went blank, my fan stop turning. "Damn blackout." i thought to myself. Then my dad in his room, saying that we're not the only ones. The whole estate was covered in darkness. i looked out to the window and true, my whole estate is black. Then my parents came out with the torchlight. First, my dad went to switch off the main switch in case when power comes back and we have too many appliances running then may have power trip. Then me and my parents stayed in my parents' room, waiting for power to come back. My dad complain too warm, so we went out to our garden to sit. Yesterday's sky was quite bright, so we three basked in the moonlight, enjoying the breeze and watching what our neighbours were doing. Haha... And boy, were we bored. We're a bunch of pathetic city dwellers. Helpless without electricity. Meanwhile my dad insist that this is the work of the you-know-who. Well, what can we do if they really want to bomb us or something. After what it seems like eternity, 40 mins later, power came back and our lives returned to "normal". Then for the rest of the night, my starhub max online screwed up, so i couldn't get online to blog this yesterday.
PS : i realised my handphone is a very good torchlight.

Sigh sigh sigh. Before dinner, Coria took the first set for his second round match. When i checked the results at 11pm, i screamed in anguish. He lost the next 3 sets to Florian Mayer 6-4 3-6 3-6 4-6. Don't know if it's his disturbing shoulder injury for the past 2 weeks, but it's sure disappointing. Then he went on to lose the doubles match which he partnered with Federico Browne, defeated by Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett 3-6 2-6. Think won't see much tennis action from Coria for a while, he need time to recover from those small injuries.
1.48am Another disappointment. Ferrero just got knocked out of third round. Lost to Robby Ginepri 3-6 4-6 1-6. Sigh. i hope Andy Roddick will not win this Grand Slam. In fact, i hope he won't reach the finals becos i totally do not the respect his style of playing. Tired, nitez~

Just when everyone thought the match between Coria and Moodie will go on forever, Coria finished it today in like less than 5 mins. What happened was that the match happened on Monday. Rain came and went which made play progress difficult. So the match had to be stopped after 4 sets due to lack of daylight. They continued on Tuesday, which rain became more frequent and the players came on and off the courts don't know how many times. The umpire stopped the match when Coria slipped and fell on the damp grass. The score was 5-3 in Coria's favour. Coria was very frustrated and i think his fall resulted in a groin injury. Poor thing. Wednesday didn't prove to be better. No play at all as rain continued to pour the whole day. And so, finally, Coria ended the match swiftly today, beating Wesley Moodie 6-4 6-7 6-3 6-7 6-3. His first win on the Wimbledon grass. Woo hoo! He's also playing in the doubles category, hope he won't be too tired out. Oh, one thing that pisses me off is that the Brits are pronouncing Guillermo Coria all wrongly. No problems with the "Coria", it's the "Guillermo". Each Brit commentator has his/her different pronounciation and it's all wrong!
1.25am Ferrero went through second round! Not without a fight though. Long match with 5 sets, beating Stefan Koubek 4-6 7-5 5-7 7-6 8-6. Both my idols are not having an easy time with this tournament eh. Hope they will get to rest more by winning matches faster. Ok, i'm sleepy, nitez~

Spend My Time
Clint Black
How can we know how far
The long way can be
Looking from where we are
It never seem that long to me
i've many miles behind me
Maybe not so much ahead
It seems i made good time
With the directions i misread
So i'm gonna spend my time
Like it's going out of style
i'm moving the bottomline further (better) than the country mile (i only use what's mine i've been saving for a while)
i still have hills to climb before i hit that wall
i won't go quietly into that dark night
There'll be no more burning daylight
i'll be living in
Every moment that i'm in
No matter how much time i (we) buy
i (we) can't never spend it all
Funny thing that time
We're always running out
i'm always losing mine
There's not enough of it about
And though it's always here
It will always come and go
The days become the years
That will be gone before you know
i first heard this song on the Oprah show when this country singer was singing it live. The moment he started strumming the guitar, i was in love with the song. Haha... Don't you love people who are SO musically inclined? So i went online and found the song, but i still love the live version. Then i discovered that Oprah.com has the video. i was so happy and wanted to share the song with you all. But i had problems downloading the video, which i managed to solve later, then there's the problem of how to get the audio from the video, which, i managed to do too. Hehe... i'm such a pirate aint it. Hope you like it even though you may not like country songs.

Ah, finally changed the banner. And if you're thinking, "What tennis again?" then you can stop reading my blog for 2 weeks. Green doesn't really go with my blue background... Whatever.
We missed you, Ferrero. Ok,
i missed you, but that's all it matters. Haha... Yesterday was quite chaotic for Wimbledon cos it was raining, matches have to be suspended now and then. Which resulted in a period of time where my dear Ferrero and Coria were having their respective matches at the same time. i was super multi-tasking, listening to the radio commentary of Wimbledon, switching between Ferrero's and Coria's matches on the live online scoreboard, chatting to Dawn and ocassionally did some cross stitch. End result was a headache and sleeping late at 3am, even though Coria's match hadn't end, but i couldn't tahan. There're so many things you can love about the Brits. It was so funny listening to the radio commentary becos it sounded like soccer commentary. Normally you watch tennis on telly, you wouldn't hear much of commentary. But yesterday was an ear-opener for me. One guy was super enthu about his commentary job. The way he comments is like super excited even though the match might not be. Like there was this rally between the players and the commentary went something like this : "Youznhy served, good serve. Ivanisevic returned with a forehand, Youznhy with the forehand, Ivanisevic down the line, Youznhy took it with his forehand again and oh! It was wide!" He said all these without any pause and i was confused about who is hitting the ball now. i love the Brits.
Oh yes, coming back to Ferrero. He's slowly gaining his form back, might be a little too early to say though, but at least he made it through the first round, beating Julien Boutter 6-4 7-6 6-3. Coria, is having tough time. Grass is not his forte, and his opponent is tough. They are to continue their match today cos i think they played until too late yesterday. Two sets all, so today is the deciding set. Hope he will make it through...
And, do i really look like Jeanette Aw? (see comment of previous post)

Sometimes i feel that i'm being made use of.
IE can't load my blog properly. i can't hear my Happy Tree Friends. Sux.

Aiyo, photobucket is down, all my pictures are now replaced with a red cross. Hope they fix the problem soon. Anyway, had fun singing to the song in the background? Hehe... Some might know that's the more-sadist-than-South-Park-cartoon,
Happy Tree Friends! My personal favourite character is the cuteie Giggles, yes, the pink one. Innocent and end up being the worst victim, like Kenny. i believe adding this song in makes my blog more positive, don't you think so? *singing along* i consider giving it an infinite loop, but i think nobody will then read my blog anymore... laa-laa~ laa-laa~

i have been staying at home for so long such that i find it difficult to be excited about meeting my holidays-then-meet-up friends. Bad girl... but yesterday and today still went to meet anyway. Yesterday was dinner with J, at a turkish restaurant, which i thought was cool but was silently praying that the food will not taste too weird for my liking. Anyway, before i proceed to describe the food, i feel so guilty for being late for about 20 mins which is totally unlike me. After the Nicoll incident, bus 10 has this new route which i had not taken before. So i figure i will reach within 20 mins but i got caught in the after work jam. So kept my poor friend waiting which was not the end because i forgot to bring the Eason Chan cd he wanted while he remembered my newspaper clipping about Zai~. i'm such a lousy friend aint it. Heez. The turkish food didn't taste weird afterall and he had turkish tea which tasted like Chinese tea to me and turkish coffee which i dared not try cos it was so thick, there was still undissolved coffee powder after he finished it. Then, we proceed to Bugis Junction for dessert. Pigs...hehe... Swensens where we had french fries and a sticky chewy chocolate sundae. Heavenly... He'll be enlisting tomorrow. Sigh, now i would not know who to call first when i have news to share now that he won't be readily available. And no-one to share my love for Coria...haha.
Today leh was with my 2D clique, the only clique i still managed to keep in contact after all these years. i may not show it, but i treasure them dearly. So had dinner at my favourite restaurant near Far East Square cos L is working nearby. Then proceed to Smith Street for dessert. Yes, again! Hehe... And we walked one big round cos i wasn't good at leading them. Thus when we finally reached, we were all fully disgested and hence able to gobble down a bowl of 4 peanut glutinous rice balls. Yummy. i don't know how long we sat there but the tables around us had no customers staying longer than us. We finally left at 10.30pm. i'm tired out after this two outings. The process of rotting had much more impact than i thought. Heez.

Endless Road
林俊杰
The truth is tearing up my heart
i can't recognise this place
The endless road without a stop sign
Can't even find a stranger this time
Why am i still holding back my tears
In this loneliness there's nothing (left) to fear
Every chord still seems a wonder
How we could be together
Every time i ask if this would be the last
Why am i still talking to myself
Hoping you will have the keys to my cell
Every song might calm the weather
But it just draws me deeper
How do i get out of this
i think i never will
A crystal forming in the eye
Maybe this would be the last
The winding path down my face
Till i begin to taste the bitterness inside
His second album is really nice... There's a chinese version for this song but it just doesn't sound as nice as this one.

All's over and ending was certainly not expected by Coria fans. 6-0 6-3 4-6 1-6 6-8. Superb tennis skills was displayed, it's such a roller coaster ride for me when watching it. i can't put it in words. When Coria lost his point to let Gaudio take the championship, my heart was aching. i was almost ready to cry. Then camera zooms to Coria where despair in his eyes was so heart wrenching while Gaudio is elated and grinned from ear to ear. Finally i teared when they announced Coria as the runner up. i thought i was crazy to cry for him when someone sms-ed me.
J : " i feel like crying man... u watchin now? "
Me : " i cried already. cos Coria lost! "
J : " when he really shld've won.. i can't believe it.. but he's a hero, playin with injuries n all.. "
Me : " look at the sadness in his eyes. god. got rule say cannot call trainer to massage legs. "
J : " Gaudio really got lucky.. hmmm.. "
Me : " heart wrenchin... i din noe u support Coria too, tot i was the only one..."
J : " but dun be too sad anymore ok? though i find it hard to sleep now.. "
J : " u forgot u always Ferrero n Coria then i always anti F, pro Coria.. now, get ? match out of ur head, be good n go to sleep ok? hehe.. "
Me : " if u can stop tinkin abt the match now, den i can slp. impossible rite? he no got no mood to play grass tml liao lar... "
J : " Well, reading a good bk might help.. hmmm.. grass he not much chance actually.. funny u support all ? clay specs.. "
Me : " cos it was last french open tt i notice them mah... go slp ba. it's another day tml... "
J : " =) it's another day today.. good nite & pray. good sleep for u.. "
It was nice knowing someone out there also share your sentiments. TV won't show the tournament that Coria will be playing tomorrow. Double sadness. Sigh, i need to sleep to forget about all this, even though it will be in the papers on Tuesday.

What a match! i swore i never got so excited watching a match before... 2 different styles of play, with Coria being the favourite and Henman being the dangerous underdog. First set was devasting for Coria fans as he couldn't figure out how Henman was playing. Thus couldn't return many balls and ended up 3-6 down. Coria at one point got so vexed that he smash his racket. Umpire gave him a warning for racket abuse. i was beginning to worry as Henman played so confidently. So second set, i began to encourage in front of TV, chanting "crush him coria" everytime Coria or Henman served. It worked. Coria got back 6-4. Hope returns for Coria. And set 3 was totally amazing. Coria seems unfazed as he thrashed Henman 6-0. By then i was so elated and getting breathless with every return he produced. Fourth set proves to be lop-sided too when Coria leads 3-0. Then all of a sudden, Henman broke serve and continued winning the next 5 games, bringing the score to 3-5. Then i realise chant "crush him coria" don't work anymore so i changed to "hold your serve coria" or "break his serve coria". Coria broke serve and score is 4-5. Held serve, 5-5. Broke serve again and leads 6-5. i lost count of how many times i held my breath as Coria serves for match. In the last few points as both players come in and out of deuce and advantage, i almost shouted in frustration as Henman looks to bring it to a tiebreak. But finally, Henman makes an unforced error, ball goes just wide and Coria wins. It will be an all Argentine final, just as i expected and i will be in front of the telly on Sunday night. VAMOS CORIA!
Isn't this painting lovely? There's this guy that will sit at the courts everyday to paint in watercolour. He produces beautiful strokes with his brush and he paints very fast. Coria is in this picture but it's not today's match. Today he painted this fabulous picture of Coria and Henman plus the crowd. Very nice. i so want to buy his painting.

Match ended at 2am plus yesterday so was too tired to post the results. Coria had done himself proud again, beating Moya in 3 straight sets 7-5 7-6 6-3. Due to rain delay, match started late so i wasn't able to watch it on tv but just staring at the live scoreboard online is enough to make me excited and nervous. Haha... Keep talking to the computer screen, "Come on Coria! Jia you! Thrash him!" If my parents hear me, they'll think i'm mad. Friday he'll meet Tim Henman for the semi-finals...Exciting... And oh, the irritating Williams sisters are out. Good. No more ugly Barbie-alike outfits.
i can't believe i'm thinking of taking money from my bank for the downpayment of a new car. My brother insist i should pay more for the car since he will get the license later than me. The car?
This.
