Above is the seating plan for the Eagles Farewell concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 18th October. Noticed how even $99 tickets can't get you front view of the band? When i heard news about them coming, i was so tempted to go and my dad was willing to go with me. Ok, some of you may not know who the Eagles are, but i listened to my dad singing their songs when growing up. Hotel California is a classic, so are Love Will Keep Us Alive, Desperado, Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise, etc. But to be able to hear Hotel California being played live will be like one of the most touching moments in my life. Hehe... But i decided not to go, even though i know i will regret. But cos there's many more concerts coming up, with Jielun, Wu Bai and Andy Lau. It will be quite wilful to spend $225 per ticket (for a better view) for this 3 hour concert. Hai~

Hands Down
Dashboard Confessional

Breathe in for luck
Breathe in so deep
This air is blessed
You share with me

This night is wild
So calm and dull
These hearts they race
From self control

Your legs are smooth
As they graze mine
We're doing fine
We're doing nothing at all

My hopes are so high that your kiss might kill me
So won't you kill me so i die happy
My heart is yours to fill or burst
To break or bury or wear as jewellery
Whichever you prefer

The words are hushed
Let's not get busted
Just lay entwined here undiscovered

Safe in here from all the stupid questions
Hey did you get some
Man that is so dumb

Stay quiet stay near
Stay close they can't hear
So we can get some

Hands down this is the best day i can ever remember
Always remember the sound of the stereo
The dim of the soft lights
The stench of your hair that you twirl in your fingers
And the time on the clock

When we realised it's so late
And this walk that we shared together
The streets were wet and the gate was locked
So i jumped it and i let you in

And you stood at your door
With your hands on my waist
And you kissed me like you meant it
And i knew that you meant it

That you meant it
That you meant it
And i knew that you meant it
That you meant it

Wanted to recommend this long long ago, but Jielun's album got in the way, haha. Some may find this band familar becos they sang the theme song for Spiderman 2. But i knew about them before Spiderman 2 cos i happen to watch them on MTV. i was basically attracted to the lead singer lar cos you rarely see a rock-pop singer decked in western suit, strumming his guitar. So i went on net to find out about them and bascially like a couple of songs of theirs.

The picture is abit blur cos it's a snapshot of the clip from MTV. If you had watched the show, you would have noticed his charisma. Hehe...

i know i have not been updating but school is really screwing up my precious time... haha... In addition to playing a good role to my best friend, ie. telly, i also have to play a role of a good student. i seriously wonder how long can i remain so diligent. i have actually starting reading the textbooks, something i would have never done until days before tests or exams. Please applaud me for turning over a new leaf. Haha...

Enough about school, there are better things in life, for eg. Olympics Athens 2004. Hehe... The only 2 sports that interest me most is of cos Swimming and Tennis. Swimming has Ian Thorpe, Tennis has Juan Carlos Ferrero. Those close to me during JC will know that Ian Thorpe was my number 1 idol at that time cos of Sydney 2000. If you flip through my JC notes, you'll find his name or his nickname, Thorpedo at the bottom of every few pages, haha... These 4 years i didn't really follow him that closely cos SCV don't really show swimming competions. Today after my lecture at Science fac, i went to the toilet and this girl at the door asked her friend to help her take some stuff. And her friend went, "you and your ian thorpe". Then i noticed a September 2000 issue of Reader's Digest with Ian Thorpe on the cover. And how i know so clearly? That's cos i have a copy myself! Haha... It's right beside me now, i almost forgot about its existence man. i must say he look better now, with less acne problem... hoho, not that he had much to begin with. So far he's doing good, with 2 golds in 400m freestyle (an event that he really deserved to win) and 200m freestyle which is a showdown between the hyped Michael Phelps, defending champion Pieter van Hoggenband and Ian Thorpe. And Ian won! Haha, proving that i have good taste, believing that Ian is still the best freestyler ever. Whereas big-ears Phelps talk so loud say want to get 8 golds, yet only won 1 out of 3 events so far. Hoho...

As for Ferrero, he cruised through his first round, beating Hicham Arazi 6-3 6-1. Hopefully he can continue his relatively good form, though Mediacorp doesn't focus on the tennis matches, xianz. Singapore wise, i think can give up hope on the swimmers. Support Susilo and the table tennis players, they have a better chance at the medals.

Yesterday a JC classmate organised a reunion called "Crossroads" for all his friends at his lovely-but-so-hard-to-maintain house. =) So who did he invited? Secondary friends, JC friends, JC seniors, army friends, student council friends and some VIPs... hehe... Our ex-principal. i didn't really understand the purpose of inviting her, but oh well, it's not my party. Our class was pretty punctual today, miracle man. Many turned up at early 7pm. i was pleasantly or should i say, very surprised that the turnout of my class is very good. 11 guys, 7 girls. Last scene of such turnout was witnessed at S's birthday party, at least half a year man. We were all seated comfortably at his spacious garden, hehe. Some people marvelled at the big-ness of his house. i have seen bigger houses and maybe also because i know his background better, so i'm not exactly awed by it. Actually i'm related to him in a funny way, of cos not on family tree basis, but something else, heh heh.

Anyway, moving to my class. So many guys are coming to NUS! Hope to see them in school more often. S was even saying should meet them in school for lunch, everyday different guy, haha... But i will be seeing one of them every Monday and Thursday cos we're taking that spastic module Our Atmosphere : In Chemical Perspective. But it's not Tuang, so nothing to be happy about. Haha... Let me categorise the kind of future graduates our class will be having.

7 engineering graduates
7 business graduates
2 law graduates
1 accountancy graduate
1 arts and social sciences graduate
1 mass communications graduate
1 speech therapy graduate
1 physiotherapy graduate
1 computing graduate

Hmm, cool huh. Really hope to see the guys in school more often, i am so getting sick of the Bizad people. And Tuesday will not be good for this entire semester, sigh... And i will miss working with LL for projects, i am so used to her working style... i hope i don't work with sucky people. Yucks, no more about school.

Past friendships worth hanging on to...

i was pissed off in the evening, and i went home, i wanted to flare up, all of it on this blog. But i watched Jacky Wu's variety show and you might be glad that you're going to read a milder version of my outburst.

i am sick and tired of being nice, trying to please people and end up taking the stress and yet not able to find anyone to vent my anger on cos the people who are not involved don't deserve me screaming at them. i could have simply bought a small present on my own and heck care about the rest of people. But i asked if they want to chip in becos i don't want to listen to stuff like "eh, why you buy gift never pull me in?" For this case, some didn't even thought of getting a small gift. Ok, he's rich enough to give a party. So what? We're talking about basic courtesy here. As basic as saying "thank you", as basic as giving up your seat on the train to the eldery, as basic as switching off your ringtones in the cinema, as basic as being punctual for meetings. He bothered to fuss himself with all these irritating party details and giving out invitations by post or even personally for my case, what's so difficult about getting a small gift? i can't say for myself that i'm the most courteous person but i believe my upbringing has done enough to make me a likeable person.

And it's always me deciding the kind of gift and me making the purchase. Becos of reasons like "you closer to the person mah", "you more free mah, always go shopping". And in the end, i always do cos i feel bad to reject people and i believed that helping out won't hurt and most importantly, i care about the person who's going to receive the present. And i have to go round asking people whether they want to chip in. Somehow i feel that belief is turning against me and i feel i'm being made use of.

i got so stressed choosing a gift this evening you know. i can understand the budget constraint better than my mum cos i know not everyone can afford it. i don't blame people for that. But i get irritated when i know surely there will be someone who, upon seeing the gift i bought, will think "aiyo, why buy this? not worth it, waste my money". But such people don't help me out with decisions and say "aiyo, you got good taste, i trust you". i can't stand such nonsense. My parents tried to be helpful and help to think of a suitable gift. In the end i was pulling such a black face that when i went home, my mum tried to cheer me up and suggested that i may as well ask the rest of the people to get their own gifts. But will i do that? My heart is too soft to do that. Cos i know people don't have time to do the purchase. Do people know if i don't speak about it? No. They will end up saying "you think too much, we'll accept anything that you bought". But that is until i voiced out my thoughts aint it. i love presents given by people who have given effort to bother to find the most suitable present and so i try to do the same. But it seems few people are on same frequency with me. And so, i didn't end up buying anything and i have to settle it tomorrow.

i don't like to mean and i now feel like deleting this post becos i know those who read it will feel bad. But i don't want to bottle everything inside anymore. If you're not generous, don't expect people to be generous. i hate to ask people for help cos i don't like to own favours but i try to help as much as possible. i will ask people who are truly very da fang for help cos it will make me happy when i get to help them the next time. And i know one such person.

i'm tired, i spoke and i'll be fine tomorrow so don't bother to ask about it. Sorry to worry the rest not involved.

Doesn't this song remind you of the first date you had with that someone? Heez, so sweet, so innocent, so simple. i so missed the old days but we have to grow up eventually, sigh...

Land Ahoy! @ 9:14 PM

It's time for the annual review of Jay's album. Please change your encoding to Simplified Chinese, sit back and enjoy. =p

August is going to be a good month. Well, if the first day of the month went well, the rest can't be bad right? Haha stupid logic. But anyway, i'm a happy girl today. First, i get to watch my weekly dose of 综艺这个礼拜六最好笑, hosted by Xiao Zhu. So i downloaded on Saturday night then Sunday morning i can laugh my heart out cos the variety show is super funny. In addition, yesterday was the first episode of my dearest Zai~ newest drama, 战神 MARS. So i also downloaded it and watched it in the afternoon. i must say Zai~ is really getting more and more shuai. The way he handles the 900cc motorbike is so...shuai. Of cos we cannot forget about his ever improved acting. =p i love the show. i awreadi watched the first episode twice. i can't wait for next Saturday to come cos it's broadcasted weekly. And the theme song is so damn good that i'm repeating it in my winamp. Of cos not sung by Zai~, hehe...

Besides telly, other things can also make me happy! Haha... for example, fireworks! Yupz, i went to watch the fireworks, with my parents. Being kaisu Singaporeans, we reached Marina Square around 3pm plus for fear that the carpark will be full. Then we walked around, with nothing much to see. We moved on to Citylink Mall, then to Raffles City where we had dinner. 6pm plus, we proceeded to Esplanade to pick a nice spot. Many people were there with their groundsheets, food, drinks and all, enjoying their nice Sunday picnic. Haha... But anyway, we didn't really know exactly where the fireworks will be released so we just picked a relatively empty spot, at the breakwater. Then, it started to drizzle and some people went off. But we stayed of cos, cannot give up the spot so easily. Hehe... 7pm plus, more and more people came behind us. Finally 8.10pm, the fireworks started and the wait was all worth while. Cos the fireworks was freaking released right in front of me! Like they were specially displayed for me. =) As i watched and ignored about whether my videocam was capturing the display properly, i was simply awed. The person who invented fireworks is a genius. The fireworks were so beautiful that i almost want to cry at one point. i love fireworks. Never mind that we took 10 mins to queue up to pay for our parking fee and 30 mins to get out of the carpark. If someone propose to me using fireworks, i'll marry him immediately. =)
