Sorry for the lack of updates, no time to blog after getting home from work. Was supposed to blog about the Xmas weekend, but with all that is happening, i think i shall keep it short. So, Xmas day, went out for lunch with my 2D gang, this time including YM after like, 4-5 years? Yuru can't make it in the end due to work committments, hai, another chance gone for the five of us to really reunite. Heh. So off to Orchard we went. And here's a photo : Friend, if you want photos, see one day we both online then send you? Cos original file bigger and nicer... haha... Then we saw this ugly Pagani car : Notice where are the exhaust pipes? My dad say this car is more expensive than the Ferrari... Then i met my family for dinner and another photo session begins. i wonder where they keep this every year : Me and my brother : Hmm, he can't really open his eyes well huh. And please people, don't say we look like a couple! We'll puke the whole day for you to see. No pictures of my parents in order to protect their privacy... Haha...

Ok that was Xmas. Boxing Day, day after Xmas. Woke up early to drag my feet all the way to Bishan J8 for Xiao Zhu's autograph session. Reached at 11.45am, realised Q is not very long, should have stayed in bed longer. WM came after noon to keep me company. Talked about the old days and all that. Then it was time to enter the venue and WM left. Me alone again with all the young and immature girls... But this group is more guai than Zaizai's fans. And i can't help but feeling old when the girls in front of me is JC students and those behind are still in secondary school and doing their holiday assignment. So we were all sitting down, waiting then Xiao Zhu came and all of us stood up and started screaming. Ok, i didn't. Then took out my DV and happily aim at his face. Got two instances he smiled straight into my DV. But i was wondering whether is it becos he saw my DV (cos i was holding it very high) or was it becos the two girls in front of me were waving frantically to him. Of cos i prefer to think it was the former. Heh. Then signing begins. His autograph : Should use silver ink leh. And my favourite shot : Actually we weren't allowed to take photos on stage. But i was thinking i can't possibly let go of this chance. So i thought of an ingenious idea. i placed the camera close to my waist, giving people the impression that i have no intention of taking pictures. As i reached nearer to Xiao Zhu, i pressed the shutter. The picture turned out well cos from angle at my waist, it's still possible to capture Xiao Zhu cos he's sitting down mah. Then it was my turn for him to sign mine. i wanted to take another picture but then someone said "no photos allowed on stage hor" Then i freaked out while appearing to look calm. So in the end i didn't take any and only got this nice close up shot of him. Finally, say i'm thinking too much but i suspect Xiao Zhu got a little bit freaked out by me. Cos after he signed mine, i said "xie xie" very loudly to him. He looked up abit stunned and shook my hand without saying thanks to me. (He did say thanks to everyone before me.) And so, haha, that's the end of my adventure. Hopefully the next autograph session, it won't be me alone again!

Merry Christmas! Especially to those who sent me cards, appreciate it! Except that my room don't really have space to display them. This year i was too lazy to send out cards partly becos after working everyday, can't really find the motivation to sit down and write cards and partly, too lazy to shop for cards... Heh. So sorry to the people who sent me ok? Ok, i have lots of things to say. Start with the half day we have for work today! Only need to work until 1pm but technically, me and my friend worked until 11.30am then we were getting really bored and decided to check the modules for the coming semester. Hehe... And the whole office wasn't in a working mood anyway. Cos firstly my colleagues from my department made some food ie, sushi, potato salad and cocktail and pass to everyone in the office. So eating time began. Then it was gift exchanging time, just that me and my friend are only in charge of receiving... Muahaha. And like that we slacked the last 1.5 hours away, joking and laughing about my supervisor being a guard at Istana last time and all the funny incidents he told us.

Xmas eve is supposed to be nice relaxing day, especially with that half day from work. But no, NUS had to release the stupid results on this day. And of cos i couldn't summon the courage to check the results long after it was released at 7pm. And also cos got nobody on MSN to help me share my anxiety and possibly sadness if it turns out to be bad. Then my saviour appears! Haha... RY even offered to check for me then break it to me slowly. But finally i decided to check it myself and i covered my eyes while the page was loading. i slowly put my hand down and this is what i see :

Business Policy And Strategy : A
Asian Markets And Marketing Management : B+
Marketing Research : B+
Our Atmosphere - In Chemical Perspective : B+
Science Of Music : B

Firstly i was disappointed that i only got an A. But i see my CAP and blinked. Are my eyes working? Is that 3.94 i see? Is that an improvement i see? Yes it is! My CAP actually improved after 2 years! From 3.89 to 3.94... Though didn't reach my inital goal of 4.0, but it was a pleasant surprise anyway. My efforts at being a nerd did not go down the drain. It pays to be a nerd! Now for individual assessment.

Business Policy And Strategy : i thought this is a relatively slack module for a level 3 one. So very happy to get an A for this. Maybe i shouldn't hate Christina Fang so much afterall.

Asian Markets And Marketing Management : Wanted at least an A- cos i put in lots of effort for the projects and tests. i did fairly well for the tests but i guess the casino project pulled me down. Sigh, and of cos not to mention my lack of class participation. Bleah. At least Leong Siew Meng was funny.

Marketing Research : Hmm, mixed feelings for this one. Cos i didn't think i would score well with the project we did. But i think my final quiz helped to pull my grades up. So thank god for that.

Our Atmosphere - In Chemical Perspective : Who would think i could get B+ for this? i suppose by now everyone who knew about me taking this module had heard me complain countless times about its level of difficulty of understanding and the tests as well. i mean my CA only had like 25 out 40 and i still could get B+ ? Think my final exam must have been super good. Haha... i'm the expert of the Earth's atmosphere now...

Science Of Music : So disappointing! With close to full marks for the tests and full tutorial attendance, the grade will depend on my essay and music composition. Must have been my lousy music composition. At that time i was struggling with my ethics on whether to just hand in the nice nice ulu midi i found on the net or hand in my original but very raw production. In the end, i did the latter in order not to feel guilty in the future and this is what i get for my honesty. Boo hoo... Spend over 200 bidding points to get a B while the above one only cost me 1 bidding point. What kind of reasoning is this? And i think i learnt more for the above module than this one. Chey. Don't get cheated people!

So this is my overall conclusion for this semester. Very mixed feelings as i continue to do relatively better in modules completely outside of my business field. 3 more weeks and a new one is about to begin. Unfortunately, this is also my last one. Going to take more interesting modules outside the school and put my remaining 2 s/u options into full use.

Ok, that was Xmas eve. How about the day before? What did i do? i went to Bintan! It's a field trip as part of the internship and this was also the very thing that sparked off my unhappiness a week ago. That aside, it was nice to take a day off from work and go overseas! Haha... Now i cannot complain i never went overseas liao. So, me, Pj, another intern from NYP, and my colleague RH, set off at 9am to Bintan. This is also the earliest ferry. Journey was an hour and to prevent puking, we took seasickness pills and slept throughout the journey which is a good method to avoid being sea sick. First thing reached, we 3 were passed on to a local employee, Edy who will be our tour guide for the day. Then RH abandon us to do his business... First stop of the day : Mangrove Discovery Day Tour. i liked this stop the best becos it was nice to sit on the boat with wind blowing across your face and seeing nature at its best. And the Indoesian guy who was controlling the boat had super sharp eyes and could see where got snakes and monkeys. We had to stare very long to find it. 1 hour passed by very fast and i wished the river would just go on forever, so that we can cruise forever. Next stop was to visit all the resorts in Bintan. Started with the Nirwana Gardens where there are 3 different resorts in that area. Plus the supposedly very stunning Mana Mana beach. But i find it ok lar, water is clear, but the sand needs to be improved. Then we proceed to Laguna Bintan where the reowned Banyan Tree and Angsana are... Wanted to tour a Banyan Tree room but due to peak season, all 50 villas are booked. And you know how much it costs for one villa per night? $800 freaking bucks. And i think that is in USD. i must earn lots of money to stay there in the future. Then we had lunch and shopped at a pathetic market place where keropok is a must buy... Can't possibly expect me to go home emptyhanded right? Heh. Then it was more resorts and the famous golf course there. The biggest one also with 27 holes. Took a ride in the buggy, quite fun. We had to stop when we see players about to tee off. Then got this woman, don't know whether she stress or what cos we all stare at her, hit the ball and it went straight into the water... Then went to Go-Kart, Elephant Park see see look look. Yawn so boring. It was still early before the ferry takes off, so we relax at the hawker centre where tried the local food like goreng pisang which i don't think is nice. Then it was back to home. Oh, then i was waiting for my parents to come, then my colleague, RH waited with me mah. By the way, he's Malay. Then my parents came, i got onto the car and they started asking who he is. So i explained and my dad asked "Is he married?" i was like "wah kaoz". My family is seriously a dynsfunctional one.

Woah, this entry took me two days to complete man, mainly becos i had to upload alot of photos. For more of the Bintan photos, click here. Also, i added in more photos from Jielun's concert. These were taken by Jx, some of which is super duper clear, like this : But that guy accidentially deleted half of the photos... Cannot be unforgiven. To see the updates, click here. i have more happenings over the weekend, so watch out for this space!

Happy weekend it was! Except for the fact i had to wake at 5am plus on Saturday to send my bro to Tanah Merah MRT cos he had to reach Tuas by 8am. But early morning no cars on the road so it was easy driving. But i nearly missed the exit to my house on the ECP on the way back. Kena scolded by my mum for driving too fast. But it was only 80km/h... Anyway, i suggested afternoon drive to Chinatown to shop shop. But mum say there got nothing and due to the fact i can't park well at various carparks in Singapore and that i'm quite a road idiot as well, we decided to take public transport to Bishan J8. And man was the MRT crowded... Went on a frenzy shopping spree at J8, buy buy. But i didn't manage to buy the books i wanted cos Jielun's book was sold out at Popular and to receive a 20% discount for Zaizai's book, i had to cut out something from the newspaper. Cheat my feelings. Finished the whole shopping mall in 2 hrs so we moved to Bugis Junction to continue cos i want to find a top to suit my newly bought Ebase skirt for the CNY. By this time, MRT even more people. And in the process of trying to rush into the train at City Hall, my mum bumped into this guy in the train. My mum was paiseh and said sorry. He replied it's ok. i looked up and he's cute! Haha... should be me bump into him better right? Sigh, kena snatched by my mum. Anyway, it's so fun shopping with just my mum. Was able to do this cos papa in China then my bro had to be on standby mode.

Then today. Drove mum and bro out to old house to check for mail and at the same time da bao lunch home. Stop near East Coast Road there while my mum went to buy Beach Road prawn mee. Then this car was leaving liao so i got slot to park. And i realise today when you poke out the holes of the parking coupons, you must take out the circle completely, cannot leave it halfway there, not totally teared out. Can kena fined for it. That's what my bro say. Hmm... All in all, i'm glad the car still in good condition. Heh.

Just when i can't make my mind on which phone to buy (among the 3 choices in a previous post), new phones are out! And again, i have 3 new choices!

Nokia 6670. Big, but people who saw the real thing say it's nice. Must take a look for myself. $468 with plan at Starhub.

Panasonic X700. Design no creativity. But reviews have been good. And it uses Symbian platform (one which Nokia is based on). So it'll be easy handling. $698 with plan at Starhub.

Sonyericsson Z1010. My favourite out of the 3. Very simple and elegant design. But, it's a 3G phone which currently only available at Singtel. $738 with plan at Singtel. Quite out of reach and useless, but i love the design...

My brother say all 3 very ugly. More friends preferred the Nokia one, followed by SE, then Panasonic. Poor Panasonic. Always last. Haha... Anyway, one more month to change my phone. Hope prices will drop drastically! Muahaha...

To the people who were concerned, i'm fine now, thank you. Took me 2 days to get over it, but hey, it's an experience telling me there're all sorts of disgusting people out there.

That aside, few things helped to perk me up, like watching Jacky Wu's shows and downloading Andy Lau's latest concert cd (can't wait to buy the VCD). i also started cross stitching again though i think i won't be able to finish it before the school starts. Yesterday was my papa's birthday and that night he flew to Shanghai and i drove him to the airport. Doing straight 100km/h with little cars on the express is good man. Shh, i did 110km/h on the way back. Today he called to tell me that he helped me bought Li Yundi's latest cd, yipee. Can save alot cos China version much cheaper.

And oh, Xiao Zhu is finally coming to S'pore! Going to get his album tomorrow when i go shopping with my mum... Anyone want to Q with me on the 26th Dec (Sunday) at J8 to see Xiao Zhu? The thing starts at 3.30pm but i think i will be there at 12.30pm... So exciting, this time i must get his autograph. Hope it won't rain!

My eyes are swollen from all the crying. Something very unhappy happened at work today and i'm totally disgusted with the way the company handled the matter. Few know about what happened, actually in fact i only told 1 or 2 people about it cos ultimately, it's not nice to talk behind people's back. But what happened today really took a toll on me. i felt so weak and meek in front of HIM, with no power whatsoever to resist, to make my stand, to feel respected. His face just gave me that "you're just a little girl, don't mess with me" look. i talked to HIM nicely, hoping he can understand my point of view. But no, he didn't care what i think, he "politely" put his point across and stating indirectly that i either take it or leave it. i feel so damn angry and disgusted after talking to HIM. i told myself not to cry, but my tears just came. And i hate crying in front of people. My supervisor came at the wrong time to see my red eyes and looked worried and left me alone first. The school called me and told me they didn't agree with what the company is doing as well. And i feel terrible cos i'm worried i may drag my friend down with me into this when this whole thing started becos of me. i went home, straight to the bathroom and just cried and cried. i hate it when people think of me as someone whom i'm not. i tried to control during dinner cos i just cannot cry in front of people. But my mum asked about the matter and i immediately broke down and went into my room. She told me that it's ok and that it will be like that when i come out to work next time. And that hurt me cos during the talk with HIM, my main point was defending my parents, trying to get HIM to understand my parents' point of view. i got hurt while defending them. Although i may not agree with my parents' paranoid thinking, but they're afterall my parents and i should trust them. But now the people there make me sound like i can't make decisions for myself and it's a joke that my parents are over-reacting makes me feel very misunderstood. And when even my parents don't understand that point and want me to take it in stride, i just cannot swallow it. i too, initially didn't agree with my parents but i understand why they think that way and so, i didn't go against them. Frankly, if someone at work puts me down with some stupid reason, i wouldn't be upset as i am now. The thing is now, it concerns people whom i care and that's why i'm so emotionally upset.

Today was supposed to be a good day. It's Trish's 21st birthday and Hinhin also passed her driving today but my mood is totally wrecked by HIM. i just can't stop crying. i too, want to be strong and be brave in making my stand. But that's not who i am and i don't want to become those kind of women who fight against people all day long at work. And in the end? Successful at work but a lousy person in life. My ex neighbour is one such person. Sure, she is successful, working at Gold Sachmans. But in life, who respects her? No-one. i'm not that kind of person who will stab people in the back to climb higher. But obviously there're such people in the world and evitably we might meet them during work. But i don't bother with such people becos i believe in retribution. And so, i'm not going to bother myself with HIM anymore, he doesn't deserve the respect from me when basic courtesy wasn't even given to me. i don't think he understands that settling the matter in this way will only do more harm than good.

i'm supposed to be sleeping now cos tomorrow still got work, boo hoo. But if i don't do this now, i'll never do it. It's photos time! Bothered to upload the pictures of the recent events of the past month...

Baoling's birthday party

Singapore Idol... first Leandra

Then Jessea

And SLY on the screen! Cos real person too tiny lar

Charlene's birthday party

Peiru's birthday (at my house, heh)

Yea, that's all the photos so far. It's been a happening weekend again. Saturday got my secondary school clique to my new house and at the same time celebrate Peiru's 21st birthday. That girl refuse to put 2 big and 1 small candles... Got her a Crabtree and Evelyn gift pack which both me and my mum would love to possess too... Cos we love the smell of their products. Then today, me, Char, Xb and Hinhin met up to post celebrate Hinhin's birthday! (So many people birthday in December!) Ate at Hans at Marine Sqaure there and had fun shopping. Maybe it was me cos i saw so many i want to buy... No $$, boo hoo. Anyway, i'm waiting for them to send me photos cos only me never bring camera. Heh. And, i just couldn't resist not buying anything with all the sale happening. i bought a retro skirt from Ebase with 30% off, but not going to wear it anytime soon cos it's for CNY. But i think the skirt is cute, different from my usual style... Haha... Tempted to see eh? Now i just need to get a top. And i bought Tao Zi's new book! Read abit of the first story and i like her style of writing, no fancy words, simple narration and yet, can feel the mood of the story. Good good, think i'll enjoy the book like how i enjoyed Cai Kang Yong's book. Just admire people who can write so well. Gonna avoid Orchard for these 2 weeks, but shall make a comeback after Xmas when there aren't so many people and yet can enjoy post Xmas sale. Muahaha, i'm smart.

Land Ahoy! @ 9:56 AM

Seems like i really can't break the curse of me falling sick after every exams. Yes, i'm sick! From all the screaming and working and screaming! Ok, first screaming was for Jielun's concert which i'm still not over yet, haha. Purposely say to gek my friend in UK who couldn't get to watch. =p But friend he going to KL on the 29th Jan. Fly over to watch lar! Hehe... Ok i think people had enough of Jielun in that last long entry, so today i'm going to talk about... SLY! Yea people, i went to watch Singapore Idol Finals live in person at Indoor Stadium! Eat your hearts out! Ok you could watch it on tv, but hello, the tickets are bloody hard to get ok... It's always good to have relatives working in companies sponsoring events... Anyway, i got 3 tickets while my bro had 3 too. So who were the other lucky two? People who fulfilled these conditions. 1) People close enough to me 2) People who are Sly's fans (heh) Bascially these 2 conditions only lar. Haha, and i looked across the ocean, only can see two people. Haha... Char and Trish! And they both were excited too lar. So Wednesday rushed down after work cos it stated we must enter before 7pm. Ok i wouldn't bother giving all the details just that we were quite bored during the commericals. But what made me super sad is that i accidentally deleted Sly's "i dream" audio that i recorded on my mp3 player! Wah... and that was a better version than Taufik's one lor! The one i downloaded from the net was recorded from the telly, sad lar. Different feeling lar. Plus the fact that we 3 poor girls were surrounded by Taufik fans. Bleah. Imagine people standing up cheering when the results were announced. But never mind, Sly also got contract with BMG/Sony (since when they merged huh?) and somemore a chinese album! But eh, consider changing your name lar Sly. Shen Xiang Long really abit cannot make it. See people Zhou Jielun sounds so much better. Haha...

Ok, enough about Sly. Today was also Char's belated birthday party celebrations! People last Saturday birthday spent with Jielun lar, cannot help. Haha... Party was held at her condo function room there. Food is special, Indonesian style. Not bad not bad. And cake was strawberry cake! My favourite wah... Haha... Somemore got music as entertainment leh and it was the songs that Sly sang! Haha... And actually many of my friends support Sly one lor. Suan le suan le.

More exciting stuff. Andy Lau finally won the Best Actor Award for this year's Golden Horse Awards! Though i think everyone will say becos it's out of pity then give him (cos it's his 3rd nomination) but i don't care! He won means he won! Hear say this will be the last year for the awards cos like less and less people attending. Like just on tv, the attendance was so pathetic. Sad lar. Everyone is not supporting the chinese entertainment industry. How can! i want to support by buying the charity movie ticket ($25) for his new movie screening (see banner) next Thurs which he will be there also. And somemore got friend who very shuang kuai agree to watch with me. But papa don't allow! Say it's too expensive. Not like he's coming to sing or something... Boo hoo... i want to see Andy Lau lar! So, please quickly hold concert here! Boo hoo, somemore heard he'll be going J8 on Thurs in the afternoon which i can't go again becos of work. So sad lar.

By the way, who knows when is the repeat telecast of Singapore Idol?
