Someone beat Federer please
Both my idols seem to have telepathy eh. Kena knocked out of Wimbledon on the same day, one after another. First is Coria, beaten by Roddick, who in my opinion, does not know how to play tennis at all, 3-6 6-7 4-6. Then after that was Ferrero, beaten by the boring defending champion Federer 3-6 4-6 6-7. Made me watched until 3am plus and now my left eyelid is abit puffed.

i want to go SW19
Yea, got my Initial D stuff from Jx yesterday. The pictorial book is very nice, glad i got it cheap. Got Jielun's half naked picture inside! Geez, but he never work out for that scene ah... And for the pre-release ticket package, it was nothing much actually. Inside just got some big postcards of the cast and shimmering movie tickets. But i bet nobody in S'pore has it except me! Muahaha...

And why i never win tickets to England to watch Wimbeldon? Guess my luck is restricted to movies huh. Yesterday was another day of celebration as both my idols enter Round 4. Ferrero won Florian Mayer 3-6 6-2 6-1 6-1. But he'll be meeting Roger Federer aka defending champion next. Bad luck. And Coria? i thought he'll never make it cos he was 2 sets down and then he came back, winning next 3 sets. Score is 3-6 3-6 6-2 6-2 6-4 against Jurgen Melzer. Woah, he must have heard me and Jx saying that he's doomed and decided to play better. Ha. He also bad luck, meeting Andy Roddick next. Guess tomorrow's tennis will be super exciting.

Sniffle
i must say 绝对 Superstar is the lousiest singing competition ever held. Not becos Jiaxin was kicked out liao but everything is wrong with how they eliminate the people, how the 2 hosts cannot host, how the voting is done, basically just how the show is produced. Compared to S'pore Idol is like, ...

7 hours away from us, my idols are seem to be having difficulty with grass courts. Day before Ferrero need 5 sets to win and yesterday Coria also the same thing. Got into round 3 beating Xaiver Malisse 3-6 6-3 7-5 6-7 6-4.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Meanwhile, i got the flu bug and i have been blowing into tissue after tissue. Sniffle sniffle. Should i meet Jx for lunch tomorrow? Don't want to risk passing the virus to him, yet, i want my Initial D stuff... Decision, decision...

Acting as career? Hmm...
Yea, forgot to talk about the movie itself. Will not provide any spoilers but they show the Cheena version here. Hope you get to watch the Canto version over there! Forgot again Char won't be able to read for the next few days but never mind. The show was watch-able, but Jielun ah, Jielun... Your expressions can be further improved to more than 3 can. Expression number 1 is used 90% of the time, expression number 2, 9%, and the last one 1%. Your scenes are akin to looping your MV 20 times like that. Luckily got other people to support the cast. But i'll still buy the VCD. Heh.

Other news, Ferrero Rocher squeezed through round 2, beating Lee Hyung Taik 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-3 6-3. Three hours plus sia that match, watched it on and off. The Korean just have a "don't say die" attitude.

Emptiness
i'm feeling this sense of emptiness. Don't know why, but everytime after going for autograph sessions or some events that allow me to get close to stars, i will feel empty after that. Hmm. And it's the same for yesterday's Initial D premiere.

i met Peiru for dinner around 6.15pm at Pacific Plaza cos it's near Lido and already there're lots of people waiting at the red carpet which was supposed to start at 7pm. Finishing dinner at 7pm, we make our way to the red carpet, see whether we can squeeze inside somewhere. Unfortunately, that place is packed with people. So we had to settle for the end part of the red carpet.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

See the purple circles? We are there. Bad place to be standing there aint it. Cos the stars will just walk straight with their backs facing us. And i was moaning until i discovered something. i noticed YES 933 DJ Mary was still hanging around that area even though she walked finished the red carpet. Then i discovered, ah, got mini stage there! Which is illustrated by the red box. So i reckon, Mary will interview them later there.

Edison arrived first and he really took a long time walking the red carpet which started from Dior there. So much so that the second person, Ah Bee, overtook him and so Mary interviewed him first. Then finally, Edison came into sight! He's really cute, cuter than Zaizai... Heh. Then he did the nicest thing on Earth! After the interview, seeing us the poor souls who were away from the red carpet, he asked the security whether he could come over. And he did! i swear i was so close to him and if it wasn't for the fact that i tried to take a picture, i would have stretched out my hand and touch his. Ah! Who say Edison is bad? He's just misunderstood. Hoho... Ok next was Shawn and Anthony Wong, nobody cares anyway. Heh. And the big shoot arrived, in his grandma clothes again! What's with all the flowery clothes anyway?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It was really dark there and this was the best one i could get. And oh, Edison was the only one who came to our side, the rest all dao us.

This is the exciting part. After the red carpet, me and Peiru had to rush to the cinema cos the stars are expected to go inside and make an appearance also. Since escalators are blocked, we had to find another way in. And this is when the lousy organisational skills of the organisers are exposed. Tell me people, do you know of another way to enter Lido without the escalators? No right? When apparently, Shaw thought S'poreans are smart enough to know. Me and Peiru were practically taking lifts up and down, walking stairs up and down, walking in circles, before we finally found the door inside the carpark that leads to the bloody cineplex. The whole ordeal left me perspiring and a headache. And lucky the cast haven't come in yet, otherwise i'll complain to Shaw like xiao.

And yea! They all appear, and our seats are really good! People from behind also started coming down. That didn't happen for the Divergence premiere. Though our seats are good, my camera is not! So i let down everybody with my lousy pictures. But Edison is super cute! And i was just bio-ing at Jielun and Edison, since they were standing together somemore. And for a moment i thought Jielun was looking at me! Ok, i believed he was looking at me! Muahaha... Must be my light green polo that caught his attention. Now for photos!

Mow the lawn
Another year has passed and it's Wimbledon 2005. i don't really like watching lawn tennis cos there aren't any serious contenders for the game. Most probably Roger Federer will win this again, boring. Nevertheless, since my two idols are playing, and this is a Grand Slam, i'll do some reporting. Yesterday, Juan Carlos Ferrero (JCF) got through first round, beating Jamie Delgado 7-6 6-1 6-4. Today will be my other idol's turn...

The photographer could have done a better job.

Yesterday i got a mild sore throat and an impending flu. Then my mum decided to play doctor and prescribe me medicine, medicine that she got from visiting the real doctor last time. Best. But i woke up today, feeling better but throat got phlem now and the nose is still on and off. Sad, guess i can't scream for Jielun and Edison today. Maybe i should bring the whistle that i got during the Superstar recording... Hmm...

More goodies!
i had asked Jx to help me get Mars pictorial book and Initial D pictorial book cos he was in Taiwan for training. He didn't managed to find the Mars which is sad cos S'pore also don't have liao. Kino people say the publisher not printing liao. i should bought when i had the chance but i stingy and wanted to wait for 20% off... Hai~ But he got for me more stuff other than the Initial D book.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

In the top right hand corner, you see a rolled up poster and a book. That's the pictorial book. Char, it costs NT300, still cheaper than Kino after 20%. Then below the book is another poster which he got it from some magazine that i don't know... Then beside the book is the pre-release ticket package. i know got this thing cos they held an autograph session where Jielun and Anthony Wong signed the movie ticket. But i didn't ask Jx to get that for me though. He saw it on Kang Xi Lai Le, where Anthony Wong was the guest, so he went to the cinema to look for it. If i knew he was getting it, i would have asked him to buy one more for you, Char. Can't wait to lay my hands on these goodies, then i'll show you all what's inside the ticket package...

It just gets better
Normally my free movie tickets will be sent to me. But for Initial D, they asked us to redemn it instead. So today we went to Killiney Road there to get the tickets. Me and mum waited in the car while my dad went to get it. He came back with this Starhub bag and something huge chucking out. Now i know why they asked us to redemn. Cos, along with the tickets, there're other stuff to scream about as well. Let's start with the biggest one shall we? =)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

There was a report saying some Initial D banners at IMM were stolen by fans. Who needs to steal when i have the poster on my bed! Muahaha... Look, Pamy is so happy. She likes whatever i like. Ha. The height of the poster is as long as the width of my super single bed. Drool. It's my biggest poster i ever had. Period.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Then we have the calendar from July 05 to whole of 2006. Of cos i wouldn't be using it. And some people actually spend $100 plus at Junction 8 just to redemn this thing. And if you feel like killing me now, especially Char, well just read on.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

They have the notebook as well! i specially took this picture for Edison fans. This notebook Junction 8 also have, but must spend $100 plus then can get. Woo hoo... All these made me very ready to say "i heart Starhub", then it just gets better!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Kawaii ne! They even have a mini model of the car that Jielun drives in the show! Of cos finally cannot forget this...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
The most important thing that i cannot lose right now. Touch wood. i figure they could print nicer tickets though, at least can have nicer ticket stub to keep. But who cares. Look at my seat number. Char, it's better than what we got for 三岔口. To illustrate my point better...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yes, the green seats are mine. The first 4th row, quite close to middle of screen. For gala premiere shows, you wouldn't want the back rows. And you wouldn't care about a stiff neck after the show cos the front rows are the closest you can get to the stars. (cos they will come inside the cinema and talk cock for a while) It means Jielun and Edison at close range. Ah~~

Now i'm thinking whether Jielun and Edison will shop at Hereen the next day. But i don't think i will station there and stalk them. Just being able to see them on Tuesday is good enough for me. *grin*

我要唱 K
Sometimes knowing the right people can get to experience alot of things ya. Like today. Said i was going to attend something fun. Well, it didn't turned out to be very fun, but still an experience nevertheless. Some of you might be watching Channel U's latest singing competition 绝对 Superstar. Those from DHS, saw who's inside the top 24? Yup the choir Jiaxin (not my dear friend Jiaxin hor) who sang like Faye Wong. So thanks to her and thanks to Lizi, we got tickets to watch the quarter finals or whatever it is. The episode is pre recorded so you guys can tune in next Thursday 8.30pm to check whether i'm caught on TV. Haha, i don't think. i was avoiding the cameras. My mum told me to "Ya" if they shot me. Goodness. Well, all i can say is Li Wei Song really has a nice voice, suitable for DJ job. i always prefer him to his other twin. Then MC King is very good at warming up the audience. As for Jiaxin's performance, her voice changed alot since i heard her sing at DHS karaoke competition (which i entered too before!). i prefer her voice then. But then since DHS one, must support lar. Haha... And oh, is one of the female contestants from NUS? Cos i saw Alvin and AC the ah beng there also. All this singing make me want to go Kbox...

Something else good happened today too. And i think Char you'll regret not coming back to S'pore early. Heh. You see, while i was on the train to Toa Payoh, my dad messaged me "You hv won initial D tickets." Imagine my joy waiting to burst out but of cos i couldn't jump on the train. So i just had to reply "Oh my god! Yes!". Just yesterday i was thinking whether i should go to see the red carpet thingy. But i had no tickets and it'll be lots of people there so i may not even get to see a glimpse of Jielun or Edison. And now i have the answer! i hope i get front seats, so that i can stare at Edison clearly since i see Jielun quite clearly during concert liao. So exciting! And i hope Jiaxin will manage to get the Initial D pictorial book plus poster for me. Though Kino also got sell...

For the curious
Everyone wants to know how i did at the interview. Ok here goes. i went on Saturday afternoon, the whole interview was conducted in Chinese (imagine my stress level as i try not to include any improper words). As the guy went on to describe the job and company, the more i feel that this place is not really for me. But i still appear interested and eager anyway. And i didn't like the guy interviewing me and he's going to be my direct supervisor somemore. So he say he will call on Monday to tell me whether i will be selected for the 2nd round interview with his boss. So i went home and thought over it, decided to reject them if they call. Eh, i don't really want to explain in detail why i don't want this job.

So yesterday they called, but it wasn't the same guy that spoke to me on Saturday. i suppose it's the boss. i expressed concern about me not going to fit the job well and all that and he was "No, i think you're quite suitable ah" Then he went on and on, but don't get me wrong, he's quite nice, i like talking to him. So in the end, i agreed to meet him again today. And today, after this post, i'm going to call him and tell him i'm not going down. i see no point in wasting each other's time, though i'll like to see how he looks like in person. Haha...

So yup, that's all. i really the companies with the jobs i really like will start calling me. i was so stressed yesterday and luckily LL was online to talk me when i thought of her. Heez, mushy huh. Oh, day after i'm going to attend something fun, hopefully it's fun. Will post about that after the event. =)

Need to brush up my Cheena
Yesterday was Zaizai's birthday. Forgot about it.

Tomorrow i got my first interview. Hope it will go well, though it won't be exactly my dream job. Today i called to ask about the position cos my mum saw it in the Chinese classifieds (which i don't read) and the person asked if i know how to write 公函. i said yes without thinking and after hanging up, i realised, shit, all my 公函 skills give back to my DHS teachers liao lar. Die. i hope they will be impressed with my slightly higher level of Chinese to cover up that disadvantage. Haha... But my Cheena has deproved over the years, despite reading Chinese novels, magazines, newspapers. The problem with me is i still can read and speak, but alot of words, i forgot how to write liao. And it's worse when you depend on computer software to type out the words. Maybe i should start to do 习字. Haha...

Rude, rude
Today went to watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith, free tickets as usual. This time with my bro who insisted on watching, even though he had 4 teeth extracted in the afternoon (braces lar). So the whole family went to Great World City, where we had dinner. i had to eat in a hurry cos show was starting, and i hate to eat fast cos i can't eat fast and i believe eating fast will lead to gastric problems and indigestion. All becos of my bro, we left the house late. Suan le.

So nearing 6.50pm, we hurriedly made our way to the cinema upstairs and this time they let people in earlier than they did when i watched Kingdom of Heaven. The cinema was almost packed by the time we got in, and boh bian, had to sit quite in front. And i think my bro's suay in choosing that seat lar. You see our row got 7 seats. * * bro me _ _ _ First 2 got 2 guys, then bro and me. Three seats beside me were empty. Then this couple behind me suddenly put a bag and something on the 2 seats next to me. Fine, figured they were chopping seats for friends. Then the movie started and still got people streaming in. You know how S'poreans are ALWAYS late. Being free seating, seeing the empty seats beside me, of cos people will come in and sit down. And everything people come in, the couple behind me will say "Sorry, the seats are taken." And my bro was saying "Reserved for who nia." Of cos wasn't loud enough to let the couple hear it.

And this goes on for like at least 5 times and it's getting irritating. Come on lar, Brad Pitt is on the screen leh, can let me stare at him properly anot. And the couple also, use your brain lar, get one person down first before your friend comes, so people will get the hint lar. Then finally, the "friends" appear. This time, the one of the 2 guys buay song and said "Some people are just so rude, reserving seats and yet come so late." Something to that extent lar. Add in American accent too, even though they were Chinese. Then lady of the newly arrived couple obviously also buay song and said "Excuse me, what did you say?" (they were seated liao) The ABC didn't reply and she continued asking. This time is me buay song, hello, me and bro are innocent ok, don't make us so stuck in the middle. So in an irritated tone, i said "Can we just watch the movie? Thank you." And that stupid woman had the nerve to reply "But you said something..." HELLO, i wasn't the one who said that "something" lar. Bloody hell. Luckily her boyfriend told her to let it go or something, otherwise i would ask her to shut up. And i was really peeved for the next 5 mins until Brad Pitt took my attention again.

On the whole, the movie is nice. With Brad Pitt, how bad can it get? Heh. But this incident only further proves the fact that it is a waste of money to watch films with pea brains like those mentioned above in the cinema. Give me HBO and Star Movies anytime. And on schools who send students to go watch arty farty performances only to ruin it. Other people pay good money to watch it ok. i've been through that, remember Dawn? Chang & Eng. Stop trying to cultivate arty farty people on purpose, if they are, they are. i'm starting to feel peeved again. i shall stop.

Moving on
Still quite sore about how i screwed up, but life has to go on eh. And i almost forgot to blog about my exam results, the last time i will ever be doing that. The day results were released, i said Hin reminded me about it but i didn't really want to know. Then LL msged me about it at night and scolded me for being so over paranoid. So went to check lor. It still gets me jittery, even though i know the chance of passing with merit is quite high. Actually, i was still harbouring the hope of getting 4.0. Page displayed and well, my results never fail to give me surprises aint it.

Making Sense of Society : A+
i never really register the A+ in my mind becos i was upset with my Consumer Behaviour result. It's only when i settled down, then i realise, fwah, my first and last A+ of my uni life man. And it really came as a super surprise cos i was still lamenting about wasting the S/U on my Econs module cos that look like a better chance of getting an A. i didn't do the best for my CA and i didn't thought particularily fine of my final either. i wrote about religion for my essay, which is such a can-sway-both-sides kind of topic.

Consumer Behaviour : B+
Sniff, i was expecting at least A-, given that both my essays and project were really not bad. But i think the class participation pulled me down yea. Prof, gave you good feedback, never give me good grade.

Services Marketing : B+
Wasn't expecting anything for this, but luckily got good project mates that led to relatively good project grades. The exam was crap though. So i'm ok with the B+.

Computation and Machine : Ancient to Modern : S
Probably the worst GEM i have ever taken. Period.

Macroeconomic Analysis I : S
Really want to know what's the real grade i got. Put in lots of effort to study for it. And after so many years of taking Economics, this module finally made me understand fully about some of the concepts. Practice really makes perfect.

Becos of the 2 S/Us, my CAP managed to climb up a little bit, to 3.98, 0.02 short of 4.0. And yes, if my CB had A-, i would have 4.0. Hmph. Also, i discovered, despite being a Marketing major, none of my Marketing modules (except level 1 Marketing), scored an A before. None. That's so ironic.
