Noisy japanese speaking machines
Yesterday was the most fun day i had in weeks. Meet up with my sec sch clique, finally managed to get the five of us together in like 6 years? Finding a place to eat is a problem cos NDP preview is not far from Bugis so i suggested going to the Turkish restaurant at Shaw where crowd is not what they have. Haha... While we ate, we heard fireworks "pong!" "pong!" and we could see few really bright ones and some from a reflection off a building. After dinner, Ym treated us to Icewine chocolate from Canada but the chocolate got no taste of wine... Hmm... Then we walked back to a dessert shop to have dessert treated by dearest Bimbo Tan. Thank you! Then we made our way back to Bugis, hoping to try our luck to see if Pretty Tokyo is closed. We got there and still see a few souls inside so we quickly made our way in and select a Neoprint machine. Wah hah, people, when is the last time you took a neoprint? For us, it was like 4 years ago liao wor. So we were busy trying to understand the stupid Japanese machine with our limited knowledge of the language. Anyway, it's hard to really describe our photo taking process inside, but if you were standing outside the machine, you'll hear panic screaming and hysterical laughs from us. Makes you want to call a mental institute immediately. Haha... And oh, nowadays Neoprint very expensive nia, ours is already $9, luckily got 5 people to spilt up. But it was fun! And we all want to take again some time. Too bad i can't post it up cos it's too small liao. After Neoprint leh, it's digital camera time. And with 3 cameras, you can imagine the amount of time we took lar. Snap snap non stop. So fun so fun, if only we could meet more often. Maybe we could go to the beach or something next time. Oh, my friend say cannot take a 3 person photo cos the one standing in the middle will be suay. Wah, that day at my house, take with LL and Char until siao lor. Now i know why i can't get a job lar... And speaking of LL, very qiao to see the Jurong gang there too at Bugis. Celebrating Roy's birthday.
Tomorrow going to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Tim Burton + Johnny Depp, it better be nice!
PS : Finally took the time to get my comments working again. Use it when the taggie is down!

Please grant my wish
It is disturbing to see that my recent posts are all about my woes of finding a job. That's pathetic. Yesterday i went to Bugis area to visit the Guan Yin Temple there cos it was the birthday of Guan Yin, although my mum say got 3 times in a year. Hmm, not sure about that. But yea, yesterday all of Guan Yin followers in Singapore flock to that temple, so many so that we couldn't even offer incense cos too many people liao. As usual, i always ask for 平安 and 事事顺利 for my family, plus hoping i can find a job soon. For those who don't know, that temple is quite well known to be 灵, so i hope Guan Yin can hear my prayer...
Just now i called up K company, asking why there is no news after a month of my application. i decided to call cos i was sick of waiting and if they really didn't want me, at least i want to know why so that i can finally let it go. The website stated two people you can talk to, one guy, one woman. i asked for the guy, cos i had a feeling he might be a nice guy since he has the same surname as me. 同乡人 will help each other out mah, haha. Well, my sixth sense never fails me again, he was really nice, lacking the contempt that most HR people have. He asked about my qualifications and i think he's thinking why i didn't get a call from them. He said he wasn't in charge of shortlisting for that position, so he took my particulars and say he'll pass to his colleague and ask me to wait for 1 - 2 weeks. i didn't really like the 1 -2 weeks part but i couldn't possibly ask him for an interview right? So i hope that inefficient colleague of his better call me within the week or i will call him again and ask me to give me an interview.

Bored
It sux when you're trying to save money by not going out too much cos you're not earning money and when you get far too lazy to even go downstairs for a swim and when you're running out of stuff to do in your room or house and when time seem to pass more slowly with each day and when the phone rings, but not from a potential employer.
And it also sux to think that i may have screwed up the interview at the M organisation because there was a prettier candidate (and looks does matter in getting jobs). Plus the amount of money i spent travelling to the place for 2 days is enough to buy me 1.5 MOS burger meals. Plus i have to wait a maximum of 2 weeks to see if i have been shortlisted. Yes, shortlisted, not employed. Plus i do not really know whether i really want to work there if i get the offer. Somewhere in the back of my mind, i am still dreaming that K company will call me, though i should really give up this dream. Or should i wait for P organisation to call me since my dad thinks that working at P organisation will be better than M organisation. Not that i really believe him though.
i am so talking nonsense right now. Maybe i should have gotten a temp job back then. Aiya, i shall go eat my cake and drink chocolate milk.

Hire me please

It's been close to nearly a week since my commencement and i'm really too lazy to type down all the details surrounding it. All i can say is, it was sort of fun after the ceremony, with a massive photo taking session outside the hall. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words, so just look at my gallery ya? Right side bar... For those who want my high quality photos, (heh) just msg me on MSN.
Yesterday, my family went to take those kind of big big family portrait. And the experience was quite interesting cos they make you stand and tilt your head in all ways possible and when the photo comes out, it looks not bad actually. At the end of 1.5 hour session, we all were so tired from all the posing and trying not to blink. Most funny is the guy kept asking my dad not to blink, but his eyes are too small lar, got blink no blink also not much difference. But then hor, think this kind of business quite good to do leh. Our package cost up to $300 plus already and with so many people graduating every year, sure got customers one. Like that, wedding photo package sure $1000 plus. And if i decide to go for those natural kind of shoots, meaning no posing at studio, think more expensive. i remember my ex project mate knows about this wedding photographer that charges up to $3000. But i see the website and the pictures are really up to standard. It's those kind of candid shots, but nice candid shots. Next time, i want my wedding photos to be like that. No posing in studio, wearing all kinds of wedding dresses from different countries. That is so orh biang.
Today went to the Career Fair at Expo with Dawn, and it turned out to be phony. Not as in real phony, but disappointed kind of phony. Cos it was really quite pathetic. The whole thing only took half the hall and most of the companies there are like never hear before kind. The only highlight was this booth was giving out Sasha bears but both of us not lucky enough to win it. Sigh.
Oh, anyone received notice to go renew passport? Any idea whether they will help you change to the new biometric passport?

London 2012

And so, the 2012 summer olympics goes to London. i bet people who bet on London with the bookies are laughing madly cos Paris was the hot favourite. i missed most of the cities' presentations today except for Madrid cos i forgot about it. Even though this morning my mum told me London will present at 2.30pm and that maybe i should watch cos may have Beckham. Argh... But later on before they announce the results, they broadcast the shortened promotional videos of the cities again. i must say i really like London's video. Not becos got Beckham inside, but cos the idea is just wicked. Those who managed to catch it will understand. Speaking of Beckham, he's like England's international icon liao lar. Besides putting him in the video, also came here to support the bid. They really should knight him, Sir David Beckham. Sounds cool huh. i mean if Elton John can be knighted, why not him lar?

i really like this logo. The strokes, the colours, the use of our national flower, perfect. It's the nicest logo Singapore ever made since independence man. They should interview the person behind it. As for the much talked about promotional video of Singapore, i think ah, really cannot compare to London or Paris or even New York's black and white video. But seriously, Steven Spielberg, black and white?! Your video contributed 50% to NYC's loss lar. Anyway, if i had known they were calling for volunteers before then, i would have gladly sign up for it lar. David Beckham and Ian Thorpe are my motivation, plus Raul as a bonus.
In other news, day before went back to VJC. But i shall wait to get the photos from Xb first before posting about it. Took alot of quite boh liao pictures. Heh.

Am i thinking what i'm thinking?
i always thought i can put anything down in this blog. Not anymore. There's something i can't share with you people cos people are reading. This is when my neglected journal comes into my life again. i shall go and record my thoughts with pen and paper now.
But there're still other stuff i can share. Like my tour today at International Plaza with SF. i didn't approach the employment agencies all this while becos, first, i was too lazy. Secondly, i also don't know. So we both decided to go there today. Went to about 4 companies, those with relatively bigger names. And all just say, oh just email your resume to us and we'll call you... blah blah. Only that K company seem more enthu. i guess the commission must be higher also. Oh well. i only hope they find what i want. After that, we wanted to have lunch with Ber and SL cos they were working at CPF. We sms them slightly after 12pm and they said they eaten already!? So in the end we 2 lonely girls ate claypot and sat there talking until 2.30pm. Shenton Way really has the best food around, followed by Beach Road. Ha, cos i only worked at these 2 areas before.
Yes, my commencement is this Saturday 9 July 2005. Any non-bizaders who want to take photo with this lovely graduate here, can come down to UCC at NUS at 5pm ya? Heh. i mean, when ever will you have a chance to take photo with a Bizad graduate on his/her commencement day? Grab the opportunity of your lifetime man.

Moolah!
PS: Xb, you sing KTV? If got, can ask Char whether she want to go KTV after our VJC lunch, cos she gonna fly off soon again. Like superstar go overseas promo album like that hor, =p Or Char you want to join us for VJC lunch? Though might be abit weird cos you don't know our tutors... Heh.
Jobless jobless, means no spending power, means cannot buy all the lovely stuff i'm bio-ing right now! If i were to list the things i want to buy hor, will make me look materialistic. But i don't care! So what i want?
1. A new digital camera

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ1. 4.0 mega pixels, 6x optical zoom, $500. Very very the gian, especially after examining it at Best Denki.
2. JIII player

Heard S'pore got it, selling for $500. Or i can get the normal version for $338 and stick those damn crystals myself. But this is a wilful purchase cos my mp3 player now is working quite well.
3. Nice, pretty, expensive bag

While everyone spends it on LV, Chanel, Gucci and what not, i prefer to buy uncommon brands like LongChamp. Actually i saw this brand in HK without knowing S'pore has it also. i told my mum the bag shall be my target when i get a job.
4. Pair of shoes

Ok, i know i have like 9 pairs of shoes right now, but girls just can't live without more shoes. i always thought it's insane to pay close to $100 for sandals, but now i realise Birkenstock has really some nice designs. i was tempted to buy a pair in HK cos they cost like $10 less but my family will go mad.
The list can go on and on, making me realise i'm so 败家, cannot do, cannot do.
