Tired.
Working for 8hrs and 45 mins everyday is no joke. Wonder why many people there like to do OT. So i have worked for 9 days. Sometimes i'll be kept up with work the whole day like today, while other days i have to constantly make myself look busy while chatting with Heda on MSN. Haha. Think my colleagues are great, willing to teach and approachable. i'm so glad i'm not in the other department where there's ah lians trying to act cute, speak in the Lin Zhiling voice (esp. to the Jap guys) and smoke. i lunch with a group of people, 7 of us together, including my supervisors. Lunch gossip is conversed in Cantonese. Good chance to train up my Cantonese. Just handed in my timesheet for today, but that little money will be all into the Japanese class i signed up due to start next Saturday. And i'm lagging behind in my revision.

Maybe i should ask my cute Jap colleague for help. He's my only motivation at work. Nothing beats seeing him in the office. And i made progress in my stalking project. i found out where he sits, his name and his position. All that's left is his phone number (office number not included) and his address. And maybe his marital status... But i won't be happy for long cos the whole office will be involved in a massive movement of working stations. Then, i most probably won't be sitting near my J san. Yesh, his name is JIN. See how we're so prefectly made for each other? God, can't believe it myself. i need to get a photo of him, so that you guys will know how shuai he is. i discovered his other Jap colleague lives in one of the two condos opposite my house though. Why not my J san? Dooshite? i'm mad. i have no life outside of work. Maybe my Jap class teacher may be shuai. i doubt so. Bwah.

Thick skin
i want money to buy my material goods. But my salary is not enough. Not enough. And yes people, i have started working after months of rotting at home! Congratulate me! Though it's a tak glam job, but i can't be choosy anymore. Anyway my company is the one with the slogan "We live to deliver". And it's at Eunos which is a torture for me be it transport or food. Food is more important. i've been spoilt when i worked at Shenton Way and Beach Road. Now i only see one miserable Kopitiam in my building. Boo hoo. Today was my first day at work. And the office is huge. They're like expanding expansively. The working environment is quite vibrant and i have 2 Japanese guys sitting behind me, which is nice cos i can listen to them blabber Japanese all day long. As for shuai ge, i noticed about 2-3 cos it's female environment but this Japanese guy is really shuai. Too bad he not sitting behind me, sniff. As for the people there, they're ok but i think i have to put in effort to break into the group. Afterall, i'll be working with them. But somehow, i can't find anything to click with them. Must muster the courage to ask them to join them for lunch tomorrow. But friends who are boh liao can visit me any day for lunch yah? Heh. When i get my pay, i think i'll enrol for the Japanese class. Think i can only attain JLPT 4 by next year. My JLPT 2 dream is very far away...

Finally, friend, though you may think not a big matter, still want to thank you anyway. Otherwise i wouldn't even have this job. And oh, your aunt is in the same office as me. Weird to be calling her name when you call her auntie. Heh.

Photo frenzy
Many things happened over the weekend, so i'm trying to post everything at one go before i get too lazy to do so. Let's start with Friday.

Friday : Char's farewell
i left my house around slightly after 10pm and drove to the airport myself. First time i drove by myself at night ok. *clap clap* Carpark got many cars and cos i don't want to park too far away, as soon i see an empty lot, i went straight for it. In the end, tested my reverse parking skills for a lot between two MPVs. Then happily went to departure hall and i was the first to arrive there. Browse through the scrapbook that one of her friends made for her. i didn't take a picture of the present that i gave her cos i gave her in the evening before she went to the airport. Cos got a number of things and i supposed she would have many hand luggage, so wanted her to pack my present into her luggage first. Anyway, i bought her this big bath towel of Winnie the Pooh, at first wanted to buy the Chipmunks but the quality not so good. Then got this purple Happy House notebook. And some magic stickers which becos of lower quailty, couldn't stick on her suitcase. Psst Char, it wasn't my intention to make my presents all Winnie the Pooh series. =p Then we just hang around until it was time for Char to go in. And it's weird cos by this time everyone will start weeping and all, but nobody cried. And we were all happily bye-ing to each other. i like this kind of farewell. As for photos, these are all i've got.

Saturday : DHS alumni gathering
i was quite excited about it and was preparing what to wear before then. But then all the excitement wore off as i reached DHS. Don't know why. Anyway, i went with my 2D gang with the absence of Bimbo Tan cos she not feeling the very well. Quite a number of ex students turned up, i'm surprised. Like classes of 1986. That is the year which you graduated in. So we're 1999. '99 batch didn't have many people going back. To name those i remember, Qihui, Huiling, Tuang Hin, Changqi, Jinhui, Zhengxin... As for teachers, Mr Kiw (still the same pattern), Wong Pei Pow, Mdm Tay, Tan Tui Gee... The highlight of the day, Mr Sng, the principal, didn't come due to personal commitments. Aww... Luckily second highlight of the day, free buffet dinner, didn't let us down. Muahaha... Anyway, we think this alumni gathering thing is a hoax cos the hidden agenda was to convince us to join the DHS alumni with a lifetime membership fee of $50. Heh. Anyway, didn't managed to take much photos of the school cos it was pitch dark by the time we finished dinner.

Sunday : 4 JC gals and 2 cameras
Today's gathering was supposed to have 7 gals turning up. But one overslept, i guess the other also lazy to wake up early and last one went for a Hello Kitty exhibition. In the end, the four of us went on a heritage tour. From Esplanade to Merlion to Victoria Concert Hall to Funan. Heh. We can organise our own Duck Tours. Initial plan was to take photos in our graduation gowns, but me and Xiubin decided last minute not to bring. And boy was that a good choice. Cos just wearing the mortar boards alone was enough to make us feel embarassed. =p Next year shall be Hin and Pj's turn.

These are not the only photos of cos. There're other more silly ones taken. Of cos i won't malu myself by putting them up here. So click here if you got nothing to do. It's really nice to be able to meet friends like that once in a while cos i really like the friends i made from DHS and VJC, but sadly i guess such chances will be fewer when everyone starts working and have plans of their own. But if we really want to meet up, it's all up to our effort aint it? So no excuses if you and your friends start drifting cos you're not making any effort! Wonderful insight from me.

i'm married to my telly
Added: Those who want to see Char off, i don't have the details of the flight yet cos Char's in HK now and she didn't reply my sms. So most probably she didn't bring her phone over? i have no idea. But she'll be back Thursday evening so i can only get details after that.

This is not good. i foresee myself falling again into the unrealistic dreamland of Jap dramas. All becos of Pride that's showing on Channel U now. i caught the second episode unintentionally yesterday and somehow i was just hooked on it. So today, i had to make do with watching the smaller telly near my room cos i couldn't switch to Jap audio on my big telly. Don't conclude i'm watching it becos of Takuya Kimura cos i didn't watch Good Luck which i should have if i liked him. And also, i have always prefer Takashi Sorimachi among the male Jap actors. So i don't really know what made me want to chase the drama. Maybe i have been watching too much of Initial D anime, so i'm like attracted to the Jap culture all over again. Just two days ago, i was contemplating to take on this 1 year Jap language course next year and then take the JPLT end of next year. Actually, i wanted to take it this year, but the registration was closed and it's only once a year thing. Darn. Maybe with a JPLT on my resume, i can get more other interesting jobs in the future. i just hope my enthusiastism lasts long enough. Cos learning a language that you don't use often is tough.

Meanwhile, i'm thinking whether i should watch the new Taiwanese drama 王子变青蛙, going to show on Channel U tomorrow also. 格斗天王 was a flop so bascially i don't have much confidence in 王子变青蛙. They need to show better Taiwanese dramas ie. dramas without 5566 inside. Well, i'll see. Time for bed.

Taiwan bagus?
i was at Suntec today when i heard this so familar song when going up the escalator to Tower Records there. "Oh, 爱情搏击,爱情搏击..." Then i was "eh, isn't that Sly's song? eh it sounds like live." True enough, on the way up i can see him sing on the stage below. There was a Health Promotional Board fair and i don't what the hell he was doing there singing "爱情搏击". By then he was at the end part of the song liao and the number of fans down there were somewhat pathetic. i bet nobody knew he was going to be there lar. So can see how fast the fever went down after Singapore Idol and i bet it's going to be the same for Superstar. i tell you, only people who have made it big in Taiwan will make it big here. i bet if Stefanie started here, she'll forever be stuck here. And so i can predict Universal will try hard to bring Kelly over to Taiwan. But i cannot imagine Junyang making big in Taiwan though. Hmm... We don't want another JJ.

Dejected
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

i have yet to watch a single match of his on telly and now he's out? i don't believe this! Beaten by a US-ian Robby Ginepri 6-4 1-6 5-7 6-3 5-7. Argh... On the other hand, can see the pendant on Coria's neck? It's a tennis racket. i love to see it swing left and right when he bends down to prepare to receive the other party's serve. Ok, i'm out of point here. i hope his points are enough to keep him in the top 8 in the world cos top 8 will get to play in Shanghai end of the year. The idea of seeing only top 8 players fight against one another is already exciting by itself.

Yesterday i had free tickets to watch Cinderella Man. But cos my dad is overseas, and it's at Great World which is out of place for me, and i can't find anyone suitable to watch with me, i didn't go in the end. So spent the day with my mum doing something else, which some friends will find out this Sunday. Heh.

Amazing
It's amazing how the human mind works. How it can psycho itself to bounce back after a dreadful and depressing weekend. i guess swimming helps. i need to slim down my thighs, and my tummy.

Updates for US open : My dear Coria has made it once again, quite on the edge, against Nicholas Massu 6-4 2-6 6-7 6-2 6-2. This is what i meant exactly in my previous post, being able to come back from 2 sets to 1 down. Totally amazing. His next opponent will be... Hmm, not yet settled cos the match is still in progress, across the globe at 12.21am. Madness these players can be. French against American. Hope the French will win. Will love to see Coria against that young French.

So easy to give up
One reason i like to watch tennis is becos i'm impressed by how some players can stand out there for 4, 5 hours straight, how some players can make a comeback after being 2, 3 sets down. It just amazes me everytime how these players managed to maintain such a strong will, which to me, seemed so unachievable. While in other sports you have your coaches to say things to you to keep on going or team members to support each other, for tennis singles, you're simply on your own cos rules say that you can't communicate with your coach. Only thing players do is to steal a glance at their coach and their wife/girlfriend and trainer in the spectator seats and from there derive some thing of moral support to keep on going.

Things are looking good for Coria, who beaten Robin Soderling 6-2 6-7 6-1 6-4. But that extra set must have taken quite energy away from him. Next opponent is a Chilean. And the 3 male Americans left are fighting hard and i guess the nation is being more united ever since the hurricane. And Coria is in the draw with the 3 of them.

How long before a Pepsi can explodes?
Yesterday dear Char gave me a Pepsi can with Jielun's face on it. Now i'm thinking whether i should empty the contents now and clean the can or wait. Cos she mentioned before if left for too long, the can will explode by itself. i wouldn't want Pepsi to be all over my room. Not good. Hmm, it expires next June. Maybe i still have time.

Lousy SuperSports channel. Never show the match with my idol in it. Hope can see him on Saturday since my dear Coria beat his round 2 opponent Vincent Spadea, 6-2 6-3 6-2. Next opponent is a Swedish.

Oh yes, DHS people, anyone going back to the gathering thingy on mid autumn festival? Since it's going be rebuilt, kind of want to go back and take photos. Bim Bim gang interested? Can use Mr Sng as a bait to lure Giok. Heh.

Shame or scam?
So, most people thought that Ms K should have won the competition. But since i don't really like her, i kind of support Mr W. Though i must say she sang the last song quite well, even though i felt that she was just copying how Coco Lee sang it. Anyway, why do i say it might be a scam? Cos winner gets contract from Playmusic. And Ms K gets one from Universal Music. Well, people with brains should know which deal is better right. Anyway, being there in the stadium is no different from being at home watching it. It's the most boring live show i have ever seen. Heck, it wasn't even full house. Our seats were good to which i immediately thought "if only i had such seats for Jielun concert". Haha. At least JJ Lin managed to hype up the atmosphere abit.

Enough about the competition. Recently for the past 2 weeks, i have been feverently watching the Initial D anime. And i am damn hooked on it. Of cos, i have to admit i started watching it cos of the movie, but as i keep following the story, i think it's so much exciting. The different races, cars, opponents, strategies, courses. And also, after watching hours and hours, i'm gradually falling for this character. He's cool, collected, smart, first class driver. Heh, i'm not talking about Fujiwara Takumi (acted by Jielun). But Takahashi Ryosuke! Which i finally understand why people say Edison was sort of a wrong choice. Cos really, they're quite poles apart. Whatever lar. Bottom line is i'm so anticipating for Ryosuke's appearances now with each episode i watch. His role is getting heavier now... Drool...
